Yes I think ES on hit should work as well.

Life you gain on kill has no effect on es. Splendour has decent ES, all res and it is easy to color.


Oh ok got it. So Splendour is only there because its "easy" to get and use. So it would be an upgrade to use something like a strong Vaal Regalia with some nice mods/an other chest with high ES.

Hi
Making this build slowly but seems to be fun,
Anyway just want to ask how u use cyclone if i put that in movement slot it doesen't use cyclone just moving?

Sorry I dont understand, what "movement slot"?

Edit: aah I think I understand - you mean "left mouse click slot", use it with +SHIFT on your kryboard than:)

Edit2: Theres one more item that keeps me thinking how to include it in the build:



60%+ global crit chance, 55% dmg and rarity boost.

Edit3: Lastly I want to test vs bosses:



If my calculations are correct each BL should hit a boss 3 times before moving out of range. If thats true in-game it should provide maximum power charges for each diacharge, no matter if we use 30% enchant or not.

Ok so Ball Lightning now confirmed as BIS secound spell for Discharge.

Vs single target its (at least on paper) same DPS as Arc if we assume that each BL can hit the same target 3 times before moving out of range.

That said - if it does - it generates +3 Power Charges to EACH Discharge. This is HUGE. Not only for Discharge damage but also for that +2% to base crit chance to EVERYTHING (when staying at max Power Charges) from Deadly Infusion, meaning capped crit for Discharge, capped crit for Arc but most important: capped crit for Cyclone. This, when combined with 98% accuracy, means 96% trigger chance for both Arc and Discharge like ALL the time.

Other minor changes:
---------------------------

As Ball Ligtning does not deliver high dmg per hit (it hits frequently for lower amounts of dmg) it wont apply shock as often as Arc does, especialy to bosses with higher hp pool.

Now, our Discharge can reach up to 115k dmg on lightning part alone vs Shaper/Guardian. Especially when we consider it will go off with full power charges like 95% of the time, having capped crit chance. This way we can drop Elemental Focus and use Increased Critical Damage support instead. DPS ona paper will be slightly lower BUT according to my calculations shock status we apply this way will add another 10% more damage to Shaper/Guardian, rendering this setup as overall better than with Elemental Focus. It will be even more powerfull vs regular map Bosses.


Ball Lightning math for nerds:
Spoiler


1) Ball Lightning travel speed is 48 units/s (before any proj speed/slow).
2) Ball Lightning damage radius is 22 units (before any AoE inc/dec).
3) Ball lightning from one cast/trigger can hit same target every 150ms.
4) We can have one Ball Lightning for one Discharge (same proc rate).

Time to travel from 0 to 22 units is 22/48 of a second or 458ms.
During that time Ball Lightning can hit same target up to 3 times as 458/150 = 3.05.

The idea with Ball Lightning is great. Still crafting and getting gear for the build and Ball Lightning just makes my idea stronger (Watcher's eye with ES per enemy hit) because it has a high frequenzy. Also i want to craft a high ES Vaal regalia with "Recover #% Energy Shield on Kill" i think this will increase the tankiness while mapping even more. Maybe even an overkill :D Thanks for keeping the Build up to date and testing/improve things!

Indeed, ES on hit WE may work exceptionaly well. If I remember correctly Elder Vaal Regalias can also roll +x% to critical strike chance to attacks.

Edit: One more intresting idea I want to test is swaping Light Penetration for Inc AoE in main 6link. This way each BL will hit same target 4 times (in fact if enemy is big enough @4 units of radius we can have 5 hits) instead of 3. Math shows slight dps gain on BL part but more than that it secures 4th PC for each Discharge and we have more radius for both BL and Cyclone which will help with clear speed.

low lvl

Now if u dont have required gear or you want to start mapping earlieryou can try to do low lvl maps with Cospri's + Volls Protector + Volls Devotion using this kind of three:

CI switch with Cospri's + Volls Protector + Volls Devotion

However your ES will be extremely low at this point.

Now if u have all the gear:

CI switch with Cospri's, Red Trails, Golden Rule, Apep's Supremacy, Volls Devo, Shaper's Touch, Militiant Faith (Dominus version) and at least 5l ES chest

In either case you should now use Discharge + Conc Eff + Ele focus in Cospri's and Arc or BL in 5l chest: Cyclone + Inc Crit chance + CoC + Arc/BL + Chance to bleed (if u have Apep's Supremacy, The Golden Rule, Volls Devo and The Red Trails) or + Fortify (if you will be running Volls Protector + Volls Devotion).

From now on grab a bit more ES nodes and all the spell crit nodes, +1 Power Charge, Zealot's Oath as soon as you start using Zealotry.

Here's a final tree that you're aiming for


Btw regarding 6l chest setup. BL + Inc AoE works really good, however Arc is way better vs packs and almost as good vs single target (less proc rate but much higher DPU). So now Im testing:



Arc + Power Charge on crit gives 20% more dmg to Arc and a 50%+ chance to gain Power Charge on crit for both Arc and Cyclone. So, basicaly if either of those crit it gives +2 PCs (+1 from PCoC and +1 from uniques combo). All in all there's an option to have +5 PCs each Discharge (+2 from Cyclone if crit, +2 from Arc if crit, +1 from previous Discharge hit). Initial testing confirmed that proc rate is way better with PCoC + Arc than was with Arc + LPen support due to having max power charges more often. Still, its not as good as with BL + Inc AoE / LPen but not to far behind. And Arc just destroys packs due to its high dmg and chaining (and shocking).

Also during some indept testing I found out that theres some fancy interaction between Ball Lightning and Discharge regarding EE (elemental equilibrium). It seems that due to frequency of hits that BL can throw at the enemy it handicaps itself. Basicaly it hits in-between Discharge and while I think the first initial hit for both Discharge and BL goes as intended (at -50% to light and fire) that the follow ups of each BL goes vs +25% to light res.
