Convoking Wand +1 to Level of all Minion Skill Gems

The convoking wand has +1 to level of all minion skill gems. This is applying properly to my Golem/Zombies/Spectre but it is not applying to my minion support gems? Either this is not working as expected based on the tags or the text should read "Minion Spell Skill Gems" or "non-support minion skill Gems".
