If you want your Guardian to curse an enemy, then yes you need to give him gloves (any gloves) corrupted with a curse on hit implicit. If you want to overcome the default curse limit of 1, then -

1) If you're applying the second curse, then you need to have an additional curse mod (such as Whispers of Doom passive), or

2) If your Guardian is applying the second curse, then he needs to have an additional curse mod (which Vixen's Entrapment gives him).

Else you'll simply overwrite his curse in the first case (since you don't have the ability to give enemies a second curse), or he'll overwrite your curse in the second case (since he lacks the ability to give enemies a second curse).
