These are the meta. Lately the meta has been established before a league actually starts and usually what else is good either doesn't get discovered until after 100 races or requires investment to make work.

When most people talk about the meta they aren't referring to racing though, that has its own set of requirements. We won't see the regular player one til the whole thing gets shaken out a few times and we see whose left.

I've never been a fan of just equating build popularity to meta in a context that is largely PvE and your build doesn't have to overcome someone else's, especially when there are skills like Cyclone that will always be popular regardless of how strong it is.
Its 2H league rework.

So as usual, reworked by GGG things are got close to nonexistance now. Like it was not long ago with the bow rework..

Scourge Arrow was great during Metamorph. Could beat every boss, clear super fast, did not care at all about map mods. Pretty bad for delving though.

I guess the point is you don't have to go meta. Scourge arrow was only about 1-2% of the high level ladder.

VD Spellslinger is a fine league starter but will never be meta. Pros, you can run it gearless and still works. Cons, it gets squishy with harder content and has a hard time with bosses. Need to wait at least a month in the league to know which build will be top.

Will never get meta?

Its one of the best start-to-end builds. Nice at start - nice in the "middle" and with investment a top notch endgamebuild.

Yes, it will get Meta. Not entirely sure if it stays like this though since league is superior fresh. Im sure some people will find some crazy new Builds since passives got reworked.

Necessity may be the mother of invention, but poor QoP in PoE is the father of frustration.

What a weird joke. It's an easy 8k life, fortify, glancing blows max block/spell block with +800 life on block build, complete with room for instant enduring cry. Hell, on the high end you even have room to get max chaos res and take Divine Flesh. Easy awakener 8 kills, frankly (if a bit slow on mediocre gear, it's not a 10 mil dps build by default). The fact that there's so little you can really get for offense on it is why you can invest in defense.

I can see from your character page that you aren't yet running mistress of sacrifice plus bone offering because you haven't done uber lab. Well, trust me... when you get that, your opinion of its tankiness will change lol.

Who cares what the "meta" is? Play what you like playing JFC.

I agree with you but thats the popular descriptor, its pretty much a reference to popularity (which is usually, but not always, tied to power)

What if some people like to play what was meta? I mean it's a legit tendency to have. Meta are usually the strongest, people like to be strong. And good chance GGG may nerf meta skills so it's incentive to jump on board before you miss out.
