my animosity towards this league is completely free of charge.
no pretending necessary. my honest + true feeling is that this is pretty yawn-inducing. ooh! 'member when PoE was good and fun? i 'member!

there's a lot of people who play ARPGs who don't want to think
they're dopamine junkies who just want to mindlessly grind mobs and get rewards like a slot machine. and they think that thats all ARPGs can be. this is why they hate leagues that require a bit of thought or planning, because it gets in the way of the "hit mob, get loot, feel good" reward loop thats not even to say that I don't find killing mobs fun. but the idea that thats what every single league needs to be is a joke. the rest of the game involves killing mobs, and if you're so burnt out that you can't handle a new league that isn't just killing mobs then maybe take a break for 3 months |

" Oh please, you aren't better at thinking, your argument shows that. The reality is there are games that do city planning and base layout much better than an ARPG can. As someone who has played Civ5 many hours, or RTS (starcraft, WC series), its painfully unfun to do it on a platform not made for base design. No one is paying anyone, this league just fits a pretty rare type of gamer - one who happens to be playing an ARPG but wishes they were playing a bad city builder game. |

I love planning elements in ARPGs and I think they work exceptionally well. they provide a break to the rest of the game which is mostly mindless and they let you craft your own experience and rewards which helps get the most out of your character " yeah, so if you enjoy minor planning elements as part of your league you should go play a completely different genre guys. it either has to be factorio or nothing! |

The speed-meta players were massively spoiled by Delirium league, and now their shiny new toys have had some of the gleam scrubbed off and they can't just chain two dozen maps in a row and run the simulacrum they're kind of upset.
Combined with the force of players unwilling to read or think more than is needed to follow a build guide and you have a forum [spit]storm the likes of early Synthesis or Bestiary league. Some players default mindset is hate. I see that in most forums, be it PoE, Borderlands or Dota. Steam reviews 90% positive, but forums full of hate hate hate. And it's just hate, not constructive criticism or explaining personal tastes, just hate. IMO from a psychological point of view this should be categorized as a sickness.

" Can't blame them, at the end of the day it's just a game, something you're suppose to do when you feel tired of your job/life and you need a rest. You're not paid to play, you're not a streamer and it's totally fine to just not enjoy something not enjoyable at the first glance. Past your insecurities. The main problem is like all they did in POE, in beastiary, synthesis, everything feels hard for the sake of being stupidly incomprehensible, tedious, boring to manage. Anyway still an interesting league to play in SSF or private league with some friends, not everything is garbo, but they need to fix stuff fast enough before losing 80% of the players next week. |
