Is Ungil's Harmony working as intended?
with the 3.11 patch Ungil's Harmony was changed so:
'Your Critical Strikes do not deal extra Damage' as far as i can tell if you are playing mines, its the mines that crit, not 'you' (as in me). same reason why the boot enchant: '120% increased critical strike chance if you haven't crit recently' is up all the time since its the mines that are criting and the mines are not 'you' is this intended? actually POE wiki is written by player not GGG staff, you have to dig out reply from mark or some other guy that work for GGG
This is the start of forum signature: I am not a GGG employee. About the username: Did you know Kowloon Gundam is made in Neo Hong Kong?
quote from the first page: "Please post one thread per issue, and check the forum for similar posts first" This is the end of forum signature |

" No, you just don't play enough to be familiar. Anyway, Ozxell is right, this is the same wording as Elemental Overload and it's pretty obvious that that wasn't intended as some massive buff to mines and totems, right? It would do what you wanted if it instead said "Enemies do not take Extra Damage from Critical Strikes from Your Hits", but it doesn't. This wording is more equivalent to "your critical strike multiplier for Hits is 1" (since it doesn't interfere with perfect agony--Elemental Overload has a separate line that interferes with perfect agony, but this unique does not). " Also, don't post the same thing in multiple parts of the forum; it's considered spam. Hello all.
Can somebody explain what "Your Critical Strikes do not deal extra Damage" means? Crit multiplier is always 1.0, or it can not be higher than 1.5 or other additions to global strike chance do not work? Thank you. Last edited by MsFelicia#7214 on Aug 4, 2020, 2:33:40 AM

"Your critical strikes do not deal extra Damage" makes your Critical hit Multiplier equal to 100%. In other words, when you land a critical hit it will deal the same damage as a non-critical hit.
Any other bonus related to critical hits (application of elemental ailments, or bonus like "+x% Spell damage if you dealt a critical strike recently") will apply since they just care about you critting, not dealing damage with a critical strike Mind, however, that what said above only applies to hits. Bonus like "+x% to Damage over Time Multiplier for Poison from Critical Strikes" and damage over time Multiplier in general will still be applied for ailments coming from a Critical Strike. This differs greatly from Elemental Overload, which has been reworked so that the "100% critMulti" logic will also be applied to ailment from critical strikes, and make Ailment never count as coming from critical strikes |

" I think you understand the mechanic, but it is dangerous to word it this way without mentioning Perfect Agony. The bonus you get from Perfect Agony is based on your modifiers to critical strike multiplier, which means that even though the multiplier is 100% in practice, the extra you gain beyond 150% of the original value are still there applying to DoT multiplier from crits at half value. By the description you are giving, I think you are referring to Perfect Agony. Pain Attunement is just 30% More Spell Damage while on Low Life.
I somehow hinted it when I said "Mind, however, that what said above only applies to hits". The implication is that Damage Multiplier for Ailments from Critical Hits uses a different multiplier from the one for critical hits - as shown in the Offence character tab. Pretty sure we already went above it in a previous topic about how Coralito's Signature (and Perfect Agony) and Elemental Overload interacted. I remember the lesson we shared back then. Your intervention is much appreciated, by the way. I was wondering whether write a longer, more complete answer and risk it being skipped for TL:DR , or just give some basic explanation and let other players share their own insights and experiences. Last time I gave a full explanation it didn't went... well. So, really. Thank you. |
