Do Earthshatter Spikes Inflict Impale?

I can't seem to find anything that answers this specific question, its hard to test this because obviously I can't be sure if I'm inflicting it with the slam portion, the reason this is important is because of The Impaler keystone.


If the spikes do inflict impale, then it would be better to not take that keystone as they won't "eat" the 4 stacks and the cooldown on a target.
