Rangers do come good once a certain amount of investment are committed into the character, or you get lucky that a corrupted 6-linked bow with +1 skill level and the right socket colors dropped from a vaal area. Ice shot deadeyes are one of the smoothest builds. Firing only two projectiles and having a chain support, it is so fun to clear mobs behind you and off-screen because of the chains with no damage penalty and icy herald and cone explosions.
There are other major successes with the class such as Hollow Palm Raider and Agnostic Indigon Pathfinder builds, but those players really know what they are doing. |

You have to invest into defensive options in this game. Passives that increases maximum life are one of the most valuable ones. So take some life nodes on the passive skill tree!
Next thing is damage mitigation. It's not big of deal when you're leveling but you should always try to have you resistances capped at 75%. When you get to higher levels you should also consider some kind of physical damage mitigation. My guess is that you have very little life and barely any physical damage mitigation. That's why such an easy encounter feels difficult to you. Also there is plenty of tools which helps you with difficult encounters as well (movement skills, guard skills, flasks). Use them.
