Help with Septic spells interaction

Hi, I would like to know if spetic spells(20% chance to Poison on Hit with Spell Damage) work with any spell or it still has to have physical or chaos damage? If it does work with any spell, will Noxious strike work too for any spell? I have a Cast on Ignite build that i'd like to use poison with too. " posion dmg is limited to physical and chaos dmg bleed dmg is limited to physical dmg only same goes ofr ignit dmg it only works with fire dmg even when you add other dmg types to a fire skil |

I don't see the point of septic spells then. So sad, I really like DoT.
