PSA: Uncorrupted Non-Unique Ornate Quivers are available for cheap this league!

Just like the story says, they never actually had monopoly. Anyone could have just corrupted more quivers to get a base. And this method has been around for leagues now. Clearly, most people didnt care about 1 extra socket. And so why do you suddenly care now? And why didnt you just start corrupting quivers?
This was as much a monopoly as that one homeless guy on the corner selling roadkill squirrels is. There's nobody else around selling flattened squirrels, but there's a reason for that.

It's an item very few people cared about or wanted to go through the effort of reproducing, and the price they were being sold at was still less than the initial investment which is what made it worthwhile. It wasn't price fixing or market abuse, it was a tiny vacuum in the economy being filled by a small group of knowledgeable players, and it only worked because nobody else wanted to do it.

It wasn't a defection within a cartel though. It was, according to their reddit post, the knowledge that you could create a white base from an influenced base with fractured fossils that ended their ability to control the market.

That knowledge was shared by the guy I linked to in the second url. He even gave away a few to get the process started.

Most bow builds that aren't archers - which is a reasonably sized list in this game - get more out of an Ornate Quiver than pretty much all the other bases. The only other option is Spike Point, and most of them aren't crit builds. If Ornate Quivers were cheap to acquire - which they now will be - most of those builds would acquire one at some point during the min-maxing of their character.

I have done way more heroic things than that. I have an apathic feel towards such situations, ever since I partially burned standard to the ground when it came to eternal orb price fixing (and a lot of other things I won't mention).

Hmmm, as a long-time standard player i don't know of any occurance of the eternal market "being burnt down". You sure you aren't just making up stuff?
Prices are created organically. Without a supply of ~500++ eternals no single person can "burn down" the eternal market.
