what req level when I upgrade an item

Hello,

For exemple, if I upgrade a normal wand no level required (the one you get at the very beginning at Nessa) with an orb of transmutation, what would be the required level of the new magic wand (I'm not talking about ilvl here, but character level)

abd what about essences, alchemy, etc.

The level requirement won't necessarily change if you are applying currency to add mods.

So if you have a wand that has an itemlevel 10, that means it can roll mods up to those which would require you to be level 10 to use the wand.

Let's say you have a crude branch or whatever the wand level for beginner is called. It has no intrinsic level requirement. But it drops in a monsterlevel 10 area and has itemlevel 10.

It could roll all low tier mods, meaning you could use the wand at level 1 if you wished; or it could roll one or more mods at the next higher tier, and then you might have to be level 5 or 7 or 10 to use it.

Conversely, if you're level 20 and looking to upgrade your gear, you'll need to find a wand with an itemlevel of around 20 if you want to try to get higher tier mods on it.

Essences, crafting, and lab enchants can raise the level requirement. They each have their own level requirement, and if it is higher than the item, the new required level will be the higher of the two.

It would be super nice if the essences, lab and crafts simply listed the req item level on them, but for now you just would have to scour.

Currencies like alch dont change level requirements.

Read wiki about affixes and level requirements.

Lab enchants should have a warning before applying them.

Most times:
If you roll/craft a new affix/enchantment on an item with much higher item level (ilvl) than current level requirement the new level requ. can be much higher.

If you don't want this use a low level essence or an item with lower ilvl.
Or reroll again and again ...
