Oni-Goroshi never igniting

I was going to post this in bug reports but figured I was probably missing something.

I spent 13 hours faming hillock for(https://pathofexile.gamepedia.com/Oni-Goroshi) Oni Goroshi. As such I was on top of the world when one dropped.

I transferred it to another character I had built for just that purpose. I went to test my new sword in the act 6 areas. It did not work to well, I naturally assumed I needed better gear.
This is when my issue occurred, I went to my character stat page and saw a 45 percent ignite chance. I was confused and believed it to be the product of fire resistances. I was playing a fire penetration gem so it did not sit quite right. To test my theory I went to a place with mosters that had cold resistance and tried to freeze them. It worked fine. I don't know what is going on but I spent so much time and effort getting the sword and the support for it, that I would at least like an explanation if this is supposed to happen so I can fix it.

You have to do fire damage to ignite enemies. Try running herald of Ash or getting added fire damage to (attacks I assume)
unhide characters
There's a common misconception with Oni-Goroshi, about it being naturally able to ignite. Maybe because the 3 Goddess (Bound, Scorn and Unleashed) were able to by adding a bit of Fire damage, or converting right down their physical damage to fire.

In order for Oni-Goroshi to ignite, you have to add some fire damage yourself. You can do it with a conversion (avatar of fire, attack skills like Infernal Blow, Molten Strike, Consecrated Path Wild Strike to a certain extent), with a bonus that scales with physical damage (Chieftain's occasional buff, Added Fire Damage support) or adding flat fire damage with one of your ring or amulets, or by using Elemental Hit (% fire damage will scale only if there is a base flat to scale).

Otherwise, you have to find a way to make your physical damage able to ignite an enemy with a "Your physical damage can ignite". Unless I am missing something, this bonus does not even exists. There do exists Conflux, however. An Elementalist Witch can get sometimes a Igniting conflux or an Elemental conflux, which makes all your damage ignite (in those case, Ignite's damage will use your overall damage as a base, not just your fire damage). You gain this buff only so many times, though: you physical damage will be able to ignite for 4 seconds every 10 seconds (3 second of Igniting + 1 second of Elemental). For that same timing, you have a 50% Physical added as Fire with a Chieftain

Another possibility is to turn all your physical damage into another element and make that element able to Ignite. It would however be a less optimistic way to achieve a "physical igniting" damage. Possible ways are:

> Cold: Hrimburn + a Cold attack skill (Ice Crash, Frost Blades, Wild strike to a certain extent) will fully convert your physical to cold damage. Hrimburn has a unique bonus that allows your cold damage to ignite. While you will be scaling cold damage rather than fire, you also get the bonus of igniting AND chilling/freezing your enemies, opening up to Hypothermia support. A similiar effect is also present on The Three Dragon helmet, but will make your Cold damage unable to chill and freeze

> Lightning: Physical to Lightning support + a Lightning attack skill (Smite, Lightning Strike, Static strike, Wild Strike to a certain extent), then equip a Stormfire unique ring, which allows your Lightning damage to ignite

> Chaos: Lightbane's rainment + Viper strike + herald of Agony + Master Toxicity (pathfinder ascendancy), then equip a Zerphi's Heart, which allow your Chaos damage to ignite, chill and shock (but not freeze, though you can achieve it via Hypothermia and a lot of bashing)

You can even get into something like that by using Wild Strike, Hrimburn and Stormfire. This will make sure whatever element is picked it will be able to ignite, though the physical damage conversion of Hrimburn will make your hits deal less damage than intended when picking either Fire or Lightning

If you don't bother setting the world on fire, thus gaining Her Blessing, you will still have a 6L one-handed sword with physical damage scaling with your level, much like a Poet's Pen or a Edge of Madness
I understand I had elemental proliferation whitch, for anyone who is unaware gives me a 20% chance to ignite.

Sorry for posting so much guys but I was wondering if it could be because of
hrimsorrow, I Doubt it because when I go to character stats it shows a 45% ignite chance.
Could you make your characters not private?
Maybe then we can see what's going on.
Stylepoints for the gloves.
Im bad at math.
How do I unprivatize my character
