Choosing Vulkan API makes monitor go to 60hz
|
Hi, as I said in the title, i have a 144hz monitor but when I open the game with the Vulkan API selected it goes back to 60hz no matter what. I have a Shapphire RX580 Nitro+ with the latest drivers as time of writing this post(v20.5.1-may27)and using the "Windowed fullscreen" option, even if I go to screen options in windows and select 144hz when alt-tabbing to game it goes again to 60hz, no matter if i'm running the game or if I open it from Steam, always go back to 60hz. I know Vulkan it's still in beta but I hope you can fix this because with DX11 it works as intended.

" Is "vsync" ON in your PoE GFX settings? If yes, then disable it and see if that helps. |

Is disabled in game and in the Drivers options, i forgot to mention it xD

Can confirm that it forces refresh rate down to 60Hz

Can confirm too. If u set the refresh rate of the monitor to 60hz or put the game on a monitor with 60hz it works fine.
If u put it on an 144hz monitor u get tearing while moving. Edit: If i deactivate Gsync it works fine on my 144hz. Last edited by divi4n#6812 on Jun 3, 2020, 8:26:16 AM

As the latest update 3.10.2c this bug is no longer present for me, now I can choose the Vulkan API and play @ 144hz without problems, hope the rest of players can too.

" Not sure what you did, but I just patched my game, and refresh rate is forced down to 59hz, from 144hz, no matter what I do. So, not fixed... This is really horrible I hope they can fix before league launch. |

Nah, my game updated one more time (but there is no official update and the game just updated on steam and it download just 1 megabyte)and now it does the same thing as before, Vulkan keeps putting my monitor at 60hz every time :S
The thing is that the game was running much better @144hz with Vulkan, hope that with the new league patch this will be fixed. |

I don't think Vulcan supports GSync and systems like that.....

Vulkan enforces its own VSync which CANNOT be modified. This VSync force-disables (at the very low API levels) GSync & the AMD variant.
yes, this encoder talks DIRECTLY with the motherboard. Intentionally. Last edited by bvanharjr#5617 on Jun 15, 2020, 5:13:14 PM
