Vulkan: Application switching stops Vulkan from filling the screen
Reproduction steps:
1) Open the game 2) Enable Vulkan 3) Switch to "Fullscreen" 4) Press the Windows key on the keyboard or Alt-Tab to another program, the game should minimize to display the Start Menu/other program. 5) Click the game on the Task Bar. The game should regain focus but it will no longer occupy the space utilized by the Task Bar. The game will still report it is operating in Fullscreen mode even though the Task Bar is clearly visible. Windows 10 v2004 x64 Geforce 1070Ti (446.14 & older drivers) AMD Ryzen 3700X Not Steam version, but launched via Steam. ---------- ---------- ---------- ---------- Also, just like with the DirectX 11 renderer the game will always launch behind other programs instead of in the foreground and Vulkan seems to retain "Fullscreen" mode of operation (which is good) whlie DirectX 11 switches to "Windowed" mode (terrible). This has been an ongoing issue since the very first day the DirectX 11 renderer was added to the game and has so far been ignored. The only work around I've ever discovered over the years, was to utilize the "--require-launch" Command Line Argument to force the game to load the Launcher first. This work-around was an obvious discovery because every time the game is launched immediately after a Patch finishes downloading the game would correctly retain the Fullscreen setting and launch in the foreground... so the "Launch" button on the Launcher is doing something different to when I execute the games EXE file directly. I still have hope that one day Grinding Gear Games will comprehend how to launch a game correctly. " With DirectX 11 you only had to do this once when first opening the game (or use my work around). With Vulkan you have to do it twice if you alt-tab out of the game and then return to it, to get it to properly occupy the full screen. The latest 446.14 (Standard, not DCH) driver does not resolve the issue.
