* For your 4L Cobra Lash, I think Withering Touch support is not very good. You will deal a lot more damage with Poison support.

* The Bated Breath belt is not very good for your build. You want a belt with lot of life and some elemental resistances (because you need 75% everywhere).

* If you want to use Cast on Critical Strike, you need 100% critical strike chance or almost 100%. So you want to use a Diamond flask.
But you should try a 6-link just for Pestilent Strike. I think it is easier and more efficient.

* The Infernal Cry is not useful for you because you don't deal fire damage. You should try Ancestral Cry or Enduring Cry.

* You should link Steelskin with Cast When Damage Taken to have it triggered passively.

* I'm not sure the 4L Charged Dash is good. You should try : Spell Totem + Multiple Totems + Wither + Faster Casting.

* Get a Coralito's Signature flask. Very cheap and a big boost to your damage.

The only reason I use the Cry is for a big explosion like this profan bloom.
And as a taunt against enemies because I'm a melee fighter. Sadly, I can't use the "Abyssal Cry" anymore, that was my only joy in the game: Watching her scream.

I dont like Spell Totems.
CD is my Movement-Skill over walls or stuff like that.
And it's very useful for cursing large groups of enemies.
"Whirling Blades" would be an alternative.

once I had one, but iam not sure, how it work's
I use "Ungil's Harmony - Amulet" for + %Crit Chance and got "Your Critical Strikes do not deal extra Damage" same as the Flask.
I could get 'Perfect Agony' via the skill tree? (this point/mechanic i don't understand)
or it is something about: "Your Critical Strike Chance is Lucky" ?
..for more damage I prefer to use "Witchfire Brew".
At the moment i can't use one. I need "Stibnite Flask of Heat" for
"Immunity to Freeze and Chill during Flask effect
Removes Freeze and Chill on use"
The Blind effect is also nice

At The first time I found this thread I immediately noticed these Boots:
Beacon of Madness - They are still useful?
The second thing I noticed:
You "Despair- Blasphemy" with "Precision" is it wright?
(violet+green) Aura Nice Style.
I think about: "Enfeeble - Blashemy (green?)" + "Envy (violet)"
maybe it looks similiar. Just for Style.

But Style isn't the problem at this Build.
It's more, how to make a lot of more Damage?
And how to survive in Endgame.

The Pestilent Strike is new since I read a bit in your guide
I used Static Strike + CoC + Essence Drain + Efficacy Support
for a long long time. After that, (i can't hear the sound of this lightning anymore)
I used Reave + Fortify. (for more tanky)


I try a lot of Gem variations... but nothing makes me really stronger.

I think the biggest problem is because I use two attacks, once the left mouse button and once the right mouse button
Left= Melee
Then escape to a distance that seems safe to me (Point Blank)
and then Right= Throw

It's like "Effectiveness and weaknesses" (DeepL-Translator)

From the game feeling, it work's very well. It is like playing a Cobra.
I can dodge very good, and survive even difficult situations.
Good agility-movement-handling.

But there is no fun if i fight 20minutes against a T15 Boss.
Where is the secret to do "much" more damage? - Is it Poison.

If you want a lot more damage, you need to get more poison nodes on the tree.
You have invested a lot of points into mana for Mind over Matter. A very good defense, but you lose a lot of damage.
The only solution is to remove Mind over Matter, get more life and get more poison nodes on the tree.

I have also changed the supports for Cobra Lash.

With your tree,
Cobra Lash = 40k dmg
Pestilent Strike = 33k
Essence Drain = 97k

With my tree :
Cobra Lash = 400k dmg
Pestilent Strike = 132k
Essence Drain = 91k

My tree is not perfect because you need more Strength, but it gives you an idea.

Are you planning on revising this at all for 3.15? Really interested in playing it!

Yes, I will update the build for 3.15.
Currently on vacations, I won't play before august.
I just have PoB on my laptop, so I've quickly pasted my latest version of the character in it.

* The new, weaker, version of Coralito flask is easily a 20% dmg loss.

Now, in the worst case, the flask will deal you 300 chaos dmg per sec.
Assuming 80% chaos res, that's only 60 per sec, so that's easily manageable.

* I see an issue now with the reworked Deadly Ailments support : because of 80% less dmg with hits, it's impossible to cap life leech. So either you use an inferior support to keep the leech, or you make do without it, relying on LGOH with claws and the regen from Eternal Youth.

* The thing is, with Ultimatum not going core, I'm not sure the Mahuxotl's shield will be available in league. I don't know really.
If it's not, you can always use the basic version of the build with Apep's shield.

* Overall, we lose about 40% dmg, like everybody actually, despite the buff to poison. I think that won't be an issue for farming though, thx to Profane Bloom.
I'll see how it fares againt bosses.

Back in game at last :)

I've played a bit with the character in Standard and after the nerfs, things look pretty good. The only true nerf is the one from Coralito's flask. Other than that, the build works as well as before.

Updated PoB for my character from Ultimatum (Mahuxotl's shield setup) :

The only change is : Void Manipulation replaces Deadly Ailment, because with the latter, we lose 80% of DPS hit so it's impossible to leech.

This version is the poison autobomber setup made possible by the Hidden Blade dagger : the shurikens from Unseen Strike refill Plague Bearer.
You may have already seen this video where I'm doing a T16 Ulti without a main skill !
Hardly possible now that the flasks take longer to refill (hard to get 100% uptime for the Quartz flask). But the Viper can still clear very decently.

For the 6th socket of Viper Strike, I have hesitated between Melee Phys Dmg or (Awakened) Ancestral Call. Melee Phys is more DPS on the paper, but mechanically, Ancestral Call is better.
It's just better to hit from a distance and deal several hits at the same time with good positioning. That's why I was also using AC in my previous video against the Eradicator.

I wanted to give you some news of the build.

Since 3.14, I've had two versions of the Viper :
- the original setup with Apep's shield
- the Ultimatum version with Mahuxotl's shield

I have decided to merge the two into one character, to keep the best of each :





In the helmet, Plague Bearer is now level 29 ! (Plague value = 1.55M)
The helmet is almost a perfect roll and is therefore very expensive, but I was lucky to get these values with just one divine in league.
In the gloves, Temp Chains is level 23, could be 24 with a level 21 gem.

Sadly, the Mahuxotl's is not available in league, so I hope that Ultimatum will go core in 3.16 !

The flasks could be improved with the new Instilling and Enkindling orbs. Also, there should be ways to improve a bit the tree here and there.
Chaos res is 83%, raising to 88% while Everlasting Sacrifice is active.
With 76% fire res (+5), that's 84% to all elem res.

I'm quite pleased with this version. It will be featured in upcoming videos where I'll fight in tough encounters like T16 Constrictor, the Cortex and the Simulacrum.

I wanted to show you this very nice claw I've just crafted :


I've found the item in a Grand Heist (Curio Display/Replica). The mods were bad, so I've scoured it and then put a Deafening Essence of Envy on it, which guaranteed +chaos dmg.
On top of that, I was lucky to hit attack speed, Dex and accuracy.

(The name of this bad boy says it's used to cook plague skewers ! That's what the Viper eats for breakfast !)

On the paper, it deals less dmg than my legacy Elder claw :


But actually, it deals 20% more dmg on hit and 30% less dmg with poison.
So it feels better for farming.
Against bosses, it feels mostly the same because you deal more dmg right away.

So you see, for a very cheap price, you can craft yourself a very nice weapon.

Now, I will need to add quality with Syndicate bench. Maybe Harvest enchantment : quality does not increase phys dmg / +1% atk speed per 8% quality.
