Crimson dance and bleeding question
I made a bleeding archer and im looing at crimson dance to increase damage against bosses.
If i use mirror arrow, blink arrow, and mirage archer, would they help with the bleeding stack? I have 100% chance to bleed, would that pass to the gems, or the bow and quiver would need to have chance to bleed? If i use puncture to deal bleeding, all the stacks will have the damage from puncture or each stack is a different damage depending on what triggered it? How fast would the stack disappear, normal 5 seconds or 8 from puncture? And if i hit every once in a while, do the stacks stay at 8 or each stack has a different timer and i have to reapply the 8 in quick succession? Last bumped on May 3, 2020, 1:54:46 AM

Crimson Dance turns your Bleeding into a poison-like effect, as in each bleeding debuff will stack for a maximum of 8. Of course, this mean each debuff applies its own DPS - if you do a very strong first bleeding followed by 7 weaker hits, the DoT will not compensate the weaker hits - just like poison.
A Reddit post (https://www.reddit.com/r/pathofexile/comments/8uf258/question_how_does_mirage_archer_interact_with/) suggests to consider Mirage Archer "as a totem", thus it would proc your bleeding. Mirror/Blink would not get the 100% chance to bleed, since they are minion, unless your quiver and/or your bow gives a +x% chance to bleed, since Mirror/Blink clearly states the clone uses a copy of your quivers and arrow (think of it like a shield under Necromantic Aegis) The stacks will each have a timer of 8 seconds since those are puncture bleeding, which lasts longer and are influenced by things like Increased Duration. Each stack is separated and will not refresh previous stack (like Corrupting Blood). Just a consideration: Blood Dance was originally intended for melee build which could not use the "extra damage while moving" effect of bleeding with their fighting style. Bow builds have always preferred the "puncture and run" style - or the even better Trap Puncture Point Blank style against bosses. Also, a suggestion from a VERY personal experience: phasing bosses (Merveil, Chimera, Hydra, Elder and its guardian, Atziri, Atzoatl, Liches, Delve and the infamous Sirus Bunnyhopper of Worlds just to name a few) will usually "purify" themselves of ANY DoT they have when they phase, making you rebuild the 8 stacks all over again. Consider a strategy against them |

Thanks very much for the answers. I guess with so many negatives Crimson dance would be too cumbersome. Will use ensnaring arrow then.

" Yeah, about that... Ensnaring arrow has been a niche skill since its birth for a main flaw in its mechanic: in order to apply the Ensnare to an opponent, it has to be the last enemy hit by the Ensnaring Arrow. In other words, the skill should not be able to fork, chain and, most important, pierce, which is something all Ascendant Deadeye do with all of their projectile skills, just saying. (You will still be able to apply ensnare with fork-pierce-chain, but not on the enemy you wish to ensnare, and it will be impossible for you to do so in a 1vs1 battle like Sirus or other major bosses) There is a Delirium keystone that can force your build to never do those things with all of your projectile skills (though I expect naturally piercing skills like Tornado Shot will still be able to pierce). Otherwise, check if your build can actually allow Ensnaring Arrow to be even used |
