About prophecies and sealing them
Hi,
TL;DR : I sealed a "The God of Misfortune" prophecy with a lvl 40 char, and want to use it with another lvl 10 char later, can I without said gods to be adapted for the lvl 40 char which recieved the prophecy ? Another formulation of the question : Will the object of the prophecy, be it miniboss, items... be adapted for the char which activate the seal, or the char which sealed the prophecy ? So I begun recently to interest myself in prophecies.

I can tell your future by... No that's a joke.
Well, I read the PoE wiki and came across one that told me that the next item I would up with an Armourer's Scrap would be 20% with only one. So I sealed this for later. I would use it maybe for another char, because why not. Then I came across another prophecy with my lvl45 Marauder, telling me that I would have to kill Kuduku and his sister. So I returned to Act 1 and killed the two, from which Kadaka has been much more "difficult" (I mean she had many more HP compared to, so I thought she was adapted to my level). I retried with my lvl40 Templar and had another Kuduku and Kadaka killing prophecy. Can I, if I seal it, use it with a new char, without having a lvl adapted boss for the Templar that obtained said prophecy Act 4 ? I wouldn't want to be wiped because I used a bad seal on a char that has not the right level for this. In advance, thanks for answering this, searching the forum have returned no useful topics. I may find the answer on Google later, but I prefer posting this before, deleting it if I find my answer. The prophecies that are zone specific should always be an appropriate difficulty for their zone. If you run your 40 in the Ledge for that prophecy, it will be trivial. If you give it to your 10, it will be an appropriate level for them because of the zone it's in.
The Hardened Armour and similar prophecies should work fine for any character of any level on any equipment. |

If I understand the question right, you only need access to the zone/map where the prophecy takes place. So for God of Misfortune, it doesn't matter where you got the prophecy, or the level of the character who got it. The character fulfilling the prophecy only needs access to the ledge.
However, it's questionable if those low level prophecies are worth spending coins to seal. The coins to seal it are likely more valuable than the reward from the prophecy. You can check the wiki for the rewards. You can also check the trade site to check the value of coins, and how much a given prophecy sells for. |

" Yes, that was more of a "if I..." than a "I will" question. For now, in fact, I have not much use for my Silver Coins, They are just in my stash taking place (not that they take THAT much place but...). So yeah. I'll go kill them with the Templar and done. They give no other reward than 3 fusing orbs. (Remember because last week I killed them with the Marauder). I was just much more curious about the why when I went with my Marauder, Kuduku was OS, and Kadaka took like 20 hits to kill... but yeah, doesn't matter that much neither. Google returned no useful answers neither... So thanks to you dudes for your useful reponses. Greylensman also for the prophecies concerning items augmentation. And harddaysnight also for the tip concerning the trade site for the prices of prophecies. Duriel, Lord of Sorrow

" If you were in a party with a lower-level character, it could have been "level downscaling" which is an option. But that should never apply when you're not in a party afaik. Or if the Marauder is your level 10, it's always possible that she's just very tanky. There's a wide range of tankiness for mobs, even at the same level. |

" No it's my (new - for the last expansion) main (lvl45). That's why at first I thought "Oh yeah the level of the boss called by prophecies are scaled to my char level". Because Kuduku is not, he's a usual low lvl miniboss that's easy even for lvl 5-6 char. But Kuduku is prophecy created, so maybe she's scaled to my current char lvl. For the record, I just did this with the Templar (lvl40), and yes I even did not see Kuduku, but I just threw a Storm Brand in the pack and Kadaka was the only monster alive after 2 seconds that I had to give hits to down. So I'm sure the monsters called by prophecies are scaled. Now I'm thinking and it's obvious they are scaled to the char that activated the prophecy, because when you right click, it adds to your view, so it's the same thing than if you sought with this char and not the one which sealed it. Well thanks again. EDIT : Clarifying text. " Interesting - thanks for sharing. I have never seen that, but I've also never really been looking, so will have to pay more attention. |

Kadaka is always stronger than Kaduku. I don't know if Kadaka is scaled, but I don't think she is. If you go in with a high level character, she'll die as soon as you touch her.
Monsters in other prophecies are scaled to character level though. Like if a level 80 character does a prophecy in a level 40 zone, the prophecy mob might actually be dangerous. Some are and some aren't. I don't know which are which though, so I'm always careful to not assume a mob can't hurt me. It's possible that you can get a clue from the wording of the prophecy. For example some will say "powerful" monster, while others will say "very powerful". If I remember right, "powerful" is a rare monster and "very powerful is a unique monster. Prophecies will also use the word "dangerous", like Unbearable Whispers V. That one really can be dangerous. That's in the final treasure room at the end of the lab. I've been insta-killed walking into that room with Unbearable V active. I've seen streamers killed in there also. I don't know if the wording hints at whether a monster is scaled or not, but it's something to pay attention to. Update. I had a level 95 character with Unbearable Whispers V. As a test I ran normal lab (lvl 33). I also had Hidden Reinforcements II, which triggered in the lab. The Hidden Reinforcements mobs died instantly. BUT, it dropped a map in a level 33 zone. The Unbearable boss was easy, but it still took longer to kill than other mobs at that level. The drops had iLevel 72, in a 33 zone. Last edited by harddaysnight#7837 on May 1, 2020, 4:13:53 PM
