is Flicker strike's interactions with duration modifiers intended?
So Flicker strike has the duration tag, it is affected similarly to Lightning warp by modifiers to Duration.
Not only the buff to movement speed, the teleportation speed is altered. - less/reduction duration makes the teleportation faster - more/increased duration slows it. - Malevolence SLOWS flicker strike, and it slows lightning warp too It is quite noticeable by swapping less duration gem and increased duration gem on multiple targets, with or without multistrike. The main noticeable thing while testing, outside of the altered speed, is the smoothness of the camera. - with less duration, the camera feels instaneous and brutal. - With increased duration, the camera feels smooth, it lags a bit behind. So thoses cameras behaviours are very similar to lightning warp. ____________ With this said... Theorically, a 21/23 less duration gem puts the duration multiplier at *0.44. If it alters the whole skill animation, it is equivalent to +127% more attack speed. (a 2.27 multiplier) I notice the difference but it doesnt seem to be this fast, so maybe flicker strike has an internal delay altered by less duration. It could be the same delay than lightning warp, based on movement speed, but really faster, or this delay is multiplied by attack speed. In this case flicker is always very slower than expected, and less duration improves the speed closer to the expected values. I also noticed, if you teleport at the same spot repeatedly (a kind of bug happening sometimes), you attack faster than if you teleport behind and in front of the target. if it is the case, the dps number from pob and others tools is wrong. __________________ So anyway after all tests, less duration gem is bis, betyer than everythin else and increased duration tems / nodes / auras are bad for flicker. ___________________ temporal chain + kaom roots also alters flicker, making it faster / teleporting further against different targets, as if it could find targets further away. camera is slower too but speed seems improved probably because of kaom roots. Anyone knows more about this? is it intended? is it a feature or a glitch? note: consecrated path has the same behaviour too but the teleport is not spammed, so the difference is meaningless I will never be good but always I try to improve. I don't have Flicker Strike builds (Though I would love to do one someday), however there was a major change in it about the buff on movement speed after hit that gained recently, which actually gave it a Duration tag. I also know they made some changes on how camera pans with teleporting skills (Lightning Warp, Consecrated Ground, Flicker Strike and so on) so that it won't "stutter"
Malevolence making lightning warp slower is intended, since the teleport's speed is based on cast speed, movement speed and duration - since Malevolence gives +x% increased skill effect duration, this would make LW "slower". What is happening with Flicker seems sort of unintended game mechanincs interaction Something tells me it will be on a patch note, someday |

yeah im aware of the changes from 3.7, it also lost travel tag.
i dont know if its unintended but all tp with duration tag skills behave the same with duration atm. blink skills are different. so apparently the teleport calculation is similar to a fake projectile taking a ms instead of projectile speed as reference with an already set distance and duration is a multiplier of it. (projectile speed changes distance traveled but here the distance is set from a to b so the time to live changes instead and reducing the ttl is a boost in speed) not sure if im clear. I will never be good but always I try to improve.
