desecrate won't spawn Towering Figment corpses

If I go to A4 Grand Arena waypoint, I can't spawn corpses for Towering Figment monsters using desecrate.
If I raise spectres of them from the area after I kill them, I still can't create corpses of them anywhere else using desecrate, e.g., my hideout. Only skeletons will be spawned. EDIT: This seems to be the case with all statue-type enemies. They can't be spawned with desecrate even though they're regular monsters.
