my purchased Stygian Raise Spectre MTX CHANGED to Ebony - [resolved]

Hi GGG i'd like to offer my sincere complaints at your recent addition of the Stygian Raise spectre skin but not so much because you added it but more because you renamed THE ONE I ALREADY BOUGHT "Ebony"

I had always asked myself.. What would GGG do if they ever created an updated version of an MTX i've purchased?

Maybe GGG would just give it to me? Maybe it would be discounted since i purchased the original... but no none of these things seem to have happened here.

I'd ask for a refund and i think at some level i deserve it if i asked given you changed my product away from why i purchased it in the first place because it was Stygian not so much because it was slightly dark.

10000% i purchased this because it was STYGIAN and now it is EBONY.

In the future GGG you really need to consider being more careful about re-releasing mtx or at least something like offering refunds on points or discounts for MTX you release that affect users in this way because now i almost don't even know how to feel, But i can say this i do not feel appreciated in this particular situation.

I really love some of the recent changes this patch especially to spectres but this really ripped me out of my mellow... My next post on this forum was supposed to be a very positive one so im kind of sad i had to make this post before that.

So... In closing i could go ask for a refund so i could go buy back my Stygian Raise Spectre but even IF you honored that due to the circumstances at hand now GGG it would not be enough points to buy the skin so what is my broke self to do?

Look, the naming changed when Stygian became the new blue/black line of MTX that it currently is.

Stygian Spectre is super old, existed long before even Ebony effects came around, so they probably just used the name because they had to name it something.

To avoid confusion and because the look of the effect has nothing to do with current Stygian theme of effects, it was changed to Ebony.

So what is there left to not understand?

You obviously have plenty of spare cash at least compared to me with all your supporter packs and maybe this wouldn't be a big deal to you at all but it sure as heck is to me... I don't have a lot of spare cash so i try to spend it wisely when i do on rare occasion have enough cash to buy myself something.

What the f... dude, the name changed, not the product. You bought the black skin for your spectres, not the current Stygian one, that's another skin entirely.

What are you expecting they do now? Give you the new one for free? Help me understand what you're trying to achieve here.

i 100% bought it because it said Stygian.

And free? no not so much im not trying to be an asshole here, I've pmed support with some reasonable options and hope they come through but this thread.. I think its important they think about this stuff in the future because while many might shrug this one off its very possible the same could not be said for future iterations of other MTX purchased.

edit: one of those possible outcomes is me actually taking a hit on my purchased points to exchange two of my skins to re-add the thing that i purchased, The funny part is i don't even really like the new skin but at the end of the day the part that matters to me is that it says "stygian"

I don't think any company selling a product even considers that someone would buy it solely because the product is named something. That's not what any rational person would do. However, if that is the only reason you made the purchase, I don't see what the big deal with requesting a refund would be. It's not up to any company to consider fringe reactions from people. I wouldn't blame a company for my own questionable purchasing preferences.

Don't disagree with you at all, i am a very weird person.

If the Stygian skin had made everything blue/purple like the Stygian Revenant models i would've bought it anyway, Stygian Revenants are super cool and feeling like i have acquired their power made me feel great... Maybe that makes a little more sense now? idk but it was a part of my identity as a necro for many years.

So no conspiracy or hatred or any of that towards GGG, I do hope ggg can get back to me and help me come to a solution that is favorable for both sides without any "free" stuff so i can have my feeling back.

Petty? I purchased something for a very specific reason and now that reason is gone.. Am i not allowed to not like that? am i not allowed to give feedback on it? is that entirely selfish of me as a Consumer to say something when the product that i payed for is no longer what i payed for?
