Heartseeker Weapon, Portal and Character Effect

Portal looks pretty damn good, gnarly as F.
Character affect is laughably bad... I mean... wow, BAD. Weapon skin is... uh, there's an effect/skin there? Who's ever gonna see that? Certainly not the user. Patch Notes 3.15:
Fixed a bug where players believed the game was playable. This has been corrected and made retroactive. Patch Notes 3.19: Fixed a bug where players adapted to 3.15. This bug cannot be corrected, so we have implemented a 90% reduction in item access as a punishment. | |

Portal is dank but that character effect, it made me do the same face I do when I see very long armpit hair.
Is it crossbow or is it assault rifle?

The portal is amazing and weapon looks good to me but the character effect isn't my thing.
