Constant ping spikes only in poe (Telekom Germany)

Same here.

Moscow Server works during the day (with higher ping 45-55 ms of course), but during the evening it also sucks.

Anyone using VPN to try to get a different route to telia?
It is especially bad tonight. Is there anything you guys could do?
Yes PoE is the only game for me with this problem. There is always every 6+ months a thread like this one, i havent seen GGG answering or investigating. This was definately the last league for me untill PoE2, bzut i dont have any high hopes they will fix this ever.
Same thing, EU - all reliable for me servers become unplayable Frankfurt, Milan, Moscow, ping almost tripled...

Sometimes you got OK instance with ~33 ping and insanely high ping in any next location.

Labyrinth becomes a nightmare - it's almost impossible to finish it, you can get 1000 ping any time.
T-Mobile Poland serv Frankfurt Milan Paris and London are all unplayable, Fix it <cry>
i have the same problem and i tryed all the EU servers, this started since 3.10.0e, i played at 1am+ the game was going smooth but not during the day, this is making me go crazy
Same here - it's become unplayable since you can go from latency 33ms to over 1800 with no notice. I would guess at least 2/3rds of deaths this league have been random latency spikes.

Problem is 100% terrible routing.

As Bakane said, unfortunately this is a PoE only Issue, as other games run just as fine as always (dota2,apex)

Terrible routing IS definitely a provider issue. And saying that it is a PoE issue because other games don´t have problems is...well...technically just incorrect.

Today, there was a good article on heise.de about the issues with peering between ISPs.
DTAG (Telekom) is one of thje worst known ISPs when it comes to "fair" traffic handling.
They let you, the customer, pay for the internet access and let hosting providers (like Hetzner) pay extra money so that the will allow those providers to peer with them.
If the hosting providers are not paying that extra money, DTAG will just send the traffic to them through another Tier1 ISP´s backbone (in my example at the end, this is the ISP "LEVEL3").
Which then causes problems for certain (not all, of course) sites/services.

Note: All links below are in german language.

Here is the article on heise.de:
https://www.heise.de/hintergrund/Missing-Link-Regulierer-vs-Monopolisten-Streit-im-Markt-der-Peering-Anbieter-4886694.html

And here is a very very good explanantion of the problem (so that people may understand it):
https://www.heise.de/forum/heise-online/Kommentare/Missing-Link-Regulierer-vs-Monopolisten-Streit-im-Markt-der-Peering-Anbieter/Noch-ein-paar-Hintergruende-mit-Beispiel/posting-37414301/show/

This problem was so massive for some customers of Hetzner ( a big german Hosting provider), that they were forced to spend a lot of money to the DTAG in order to prevent that their customers have to pay "twice":
https://www.hetzner.de/news/03-20-dtag/

That is nothing new, already in 2014/2015 it was discussed heavily (search for "Netzneutralität") https://www.teltarif.de/double-paid-traffic-telekom-hetzner/news/61976.html or https://winfuture.de/news,90185.html (even other Tier1 ISPs tried to bring DTAG to court for their bad behaviour).

So - there are only 3 options on how to solve that issues:
1) Change your ISP - Some ISPs (like Telekom) are known to have bad peerings, others are known to have good peerings (O2 seems to be one of them)
2) The Hosting provider of GGG´s servers needs to pay for a peering with [insert any provider around the world who acts like DTAG]
3) Use a VPN - i personally have my own linux (vps) server for like 3€/month. it is located in Duesseldorf and i live in southern germany. If i want to play directly without VPn, my latency goes crazy and i cannot get a constant latency in the evening/night. However, if i connect to my server with VPN, i have a constant latency of 32-40ms when playing on Frankfurt/Amsterdam.

Yes, as explained above - a VPN may solve the issue, if the VPN provider (or the network provider provider where your VPN is located) has a good peering with the GGG´s game servers.

You can see the different paths from my PC.
The first one is without a VPN.

The second one is sperated into 2 different traceroutes, the first one is the trace to my server (ragnar.as69.de), the second one is the trace to the same game server when connected with VPN.

Good on you to have found this out and made a post like this.
Many of us have been trying to explain this to people, but the response have been very rude and "ignorant".

Thanks :) We´ll have same complains in a couple of days. As always when a new league starts and many many people have the same problems, combined with highly loaded servers and early bugs as well. It will start at 10 pm i guess on a weekend, thats the worst time slot in terms of network bandwidth because everyone is sitting at home and generating a lot of traffic to billions of websites across the world :) Although GGG really managed the last 2 or 3 league starts pretty well and maybe even better now with the new "preload" File format.

However, maybe i´m making a visual drawing to further explain the problem about the ISPs. That may help people to better understand it.
