I knew my upgrade to an 8 core 16 thread cpu would eventually be good for playing PoE.
" Sounds all good. We can never get enough quality of performance improvements. I never payed attention as to whether having PoE continue generating 200 fps while I'm in my browser looking up something had much of a performance impact. Now that I'll be able to set the fps low I'll find out. Hope the new Delirium fog effects don't crash frame rates. Thank you GGG. "You've got to grind, grind, grind at that grindstone..." Necessity may be the mother of invention, but poor QoP in PoE is the father of frustration. Once you break the cycle of fear no angels or demons can whisper you their sweet nothing words. poe2 = ruthless 2.0 = bad. |

Overkill.
My i5 is still killing it. |

My i9-7900X was waiting for this ^^

" don't know when he bought his but anybody looking for a new CPU, save yourself over $100 and buy an AMD 3700x instead for nearly the same gaming performance but better productivity performance and $100 savings |

" I run a 2700x and I never get frame drops that effect game play at 4k. These processors are great for work flow and multi app usage. The little bit they lose on single core performance is negligible and as we move into the future are much better performance to value ratio. But hey if you want to waste money on Intel because "brand" go right ahead and throw your money away. |

that part of the patch notes just means all cores will overheat instead of just two.

support for 16 logical cores won't change anything. Stellaris uses up to 16 threads too but always bottlenecked on a single one and total of like 12% cpu usage on my 8 thread cpu.
