Soulwrest Phantasms damage?
Hi,
I was trying to create a build around this item and noticed that for Summon Phantasms it says: "The phantasms stats seem to be depending on the level of the Active skill that the gem is linked to. For example: Level 10 Active skill -> 120 to 180 base physical damage and a total life of 748 per phantasm Level 20 Active skill -> 610 to 915 base physical damage and a total life of 2,855 per phantasm" Does this follow for Soulwrest also? Meaning I have to put active gem into it to get that 600 dmg per phantasm? Or are Soulwrest's Phantasms always counted as lvl 20 (no need for active gem to get that 600 dmg)? That's actually an interesting question; I've changed my response thrice now. With the staff you trigger a level 20 skill. So you will always get the level 20 version of the phantasm.

I was running a Soulwrest build a while ago and you should add another lv20 Summon Phantasm gem although the staff does provide a build-in lvl20 gem already, because it will double the max amount of phantasms you can summon at a time.
Id also recommend bubonic trail boots for easy summoning, you´ll just have to figure out how to create corpses while walking or use other minions to kickstart the corpse production. Back then the dmg output and clearspeed was really nice. Only downside were bossfights, especially when they dont spawn ads or said ads dont leave corpses. Also deep delving isnt that great (or wasnt that great), because they wont focus their dmg on the same target, thus it takes too long to kill specific mobs in some instances. That said: Deathmark didnt exist back then. Cheers |

" " Putting another Summon Phantasm in is a must; but the question itself is from where does the damage come from? Because regular Summon Phantasm scales from level of active gem it is linked to. (level of Summon Phantasm only gives more minions and greater change of summoning) That's why I'm bothered with it - getting a lvl 20 version of phantasm doesn't mean anything because difference between lvl 1 and lvl 20 is just amount of possible phantasms summoned; the damage of each individual phantasm coming from level of linked active gem. " I asked this question MAINLY because of damage "issue". I tried testing it live, but it is a bit hard so I will try to find some concise test; but in PoB the damage scales off active linked gem. And the difference was staggering - with lvl 1 linked gem dps per phantasm was 16k, with lvl 21 gem was 100k. Only issue is that I don't know if this damage is only for item's Summon Phantasm or linked one. |

If Im not mistaken, both phantasm gems are separate dmg sources and you are basically running 2 5l setups in that staff.
The build-in version triggers on consuming corpses. Those phantasms will scale off the the built-in lvl20 gem. If they do kill stuff, they can summon phantasms on kill, which will scale off your phantasm support gem, not the built-in one. So basically you have 2 different phantasm packs with 10 phantasms each, scaling off their respective gems. I dont think PoB can calculate this correctly, so you are down to testing this out yourself. What I described above is just my conclusion based on my experience when I was running this setup. " " Let me clarify. You are getting a level 20 active triggered skill. That is completely different from socketed gems are supported by L20 Phantasm Support. That’s why you can link Phantasm Support in there, and that is why it will always be triggered at L20. |
