How Do People Get 30k Energy Shield?

I understand there's room for improvement on my gear, but I'm barely breaking 7,500 energy shield on my Necro. Is it a certain class and keystone combination? Do I really have to spend 3+ ex on every single piece of gear to break 20k?

Most people getting that high are strength stacking with Geofri's Sanctuary and Shaper's Touch. You should be able to find more info by poking around what people are using at https://poe.ninja/challenge/builds?sort=energy-shield

^even without that you can get huge ES. i seen a whispering ice character with 22K ES

its usually guardian for the enormous base ES increase, getting it as anyone else is pretty difficult.
On HC for example if i sort PoE Ninja by ES everyone on the list is a guardian except one chieftain and I have no idea how he got to 24k ES lol gonna have to check his tree out. He might be RF or some insane strength stacker. the regular ascendancies tend to get to the 10-15k range with heavy investment. Didn't someone hit some obnoxious ES max that was like over 100k using mirror tier/strength stacking on mega-steroids?
