Minion damage support - gem lvl vs gem quality
So I have corrupted two minion damage support gems, one with lvl 20 and quality 23, and the other lvl 21 quality 20. They both add up to the same percentage of increased damage, (60%), but I was wondering... do they really? Is there some funny mathematical voodoo that happens making one of the damage stats additive or somehow better, or is this truly a case of 6 of one half a dozen of the other? Knowledge is power. " You read the gems wrong. Increase damage and more damage is not the same. The level 21 gems will give MUCH more dps then the 20/23 gem. You will be able to see this very clearly in POB. |

I wouldn’t say much more, but 21/20 is always superior to 20/23 on dps support gems. The “more” and “increased” are two separate stats. More means an individual multiplier whereas increased stacks with every source of increased damage available to you.

" There are exceptions to this rule though... but Minion Damage Support wouldn't be one of them. ;) |

Thanks to all of you. Glad I asked... especially considering that I had the other gem equipped!
