It seems to me that this is all about flat mana cost reduction. All you need is to make any skill have 0 mana cost then you can use the weapon craft to trigger socketed spells when you use a skill. Maybe use a good 6-link Shaper spell staff and leap slam.

Ideally you could make a movement skill have zero cost and just jump around while long range spells fly offscreen clearing the map without ever seeing a mob.

Doing map where its literally impossible to avoid attacks? Try again and come up with actual "challenge".

I seem to recall someone with one hit point killing Atziri. I don't think they did it on the first try, but they did it with one set or portals.

I've often thought about using a movement skill (not counting cyclone) as a 6+ link primary skill to basically rug-burn enemies to death with flame dash, grate them down to sawdust with whirling blades, etc.

Not strictly a tricster build, although having a free primary skill would be amazing. Or mana gain on hit with spells, or blood magic with shaper ring or watcher's eye for gains on hit.

when I first started playing I saw a vid (or read a thread) on some build that abuses Abberath's Hooves to just run through maps and shit just catches fire in a 3-screen radius and falls over dead.

I'm sure that build hasn't survived in any recognizable form, but some sort of ES-based EB autobomber where all ur shit is either free or triggered on hit or on cwdt would be either super-fun to play, or just aggravating since you have no control.

If anyone has done it, I bet Jousis made a vid on it and has custom sounds for every skill. And in such capable hands, it's probably either shapers-per-second damage, or it melts server nodes and is banned, or would cause epilepsy in a block of wood due to all the explosions and flashing lights.

Yeah using Cyclone as a main source of damage while you have 1HP sounds pretty safe.
