Ivory tower question

I was wondering something about ivory tower, I really wanna make a build around it but I need to know my options, specially about the chaos damage.

So I was wondering if you could transfer the chaos damage taken from mana, into energy shield using eldritch battery and then reserve all your mana for other benefits, is that possible or am I being stupid? ^_^

The problem with your idea is that Chaos damage bypasses Energy Shield, whether it protects Mana or Life. This is why Shavronne's Wrappings were effectively mandatory for low-life ES builds before Ivory Tower. The other options to stop Chaos bypassing ES are Solaris Lorica, Coruscating Elixir, or Esh's Visage, all of which are undesirable for one reason or another.
