Stygian Revenant Detonate Dead Visibility

Hey,

I find the Detonate Dead attack from the Stygian Revenants is too dark and hard to see, especially on certain tilesets, and it deals a ridiculous amount of damage. Could changes be made to improve the visibility similar to other DD skills (and possibly nerf the damage a bit)?

Thanks!

Unfortunately, I don't think that GGG really wants to create "fair" dangerous encounters anymore, they lost control of the game balance and have been introducing more and more screen-clutter based rippy stuff into the game.

I completely agree that some more obvious effect is needed here, I don't think that GGG wants it though.
SSF is not and will never be a standard for balance, it is not for people entitled to getting more without trading.
Better yet, remove that garbage from anything but strong boxes.
There are couple examples of changing effect visibility or adding bigger delay before it goes "boom" on stuff like Stormbrearers

Might be worth of some manufactured outrage on reddit to force them to convert the instant DD into delayed booby trap

This.

Legitimate difficulty is a worthy cause, however; I definitely agree. If this game killed me left and right, and every instance had me saying, "Damn, I should have seen that coming!" then it would be the BEST. GAME. EVAR.

But... I, um. Rarely feel like that when I get insta-gibbed.

Think about it: Games which kill you a lot yet always feel fair when they do so are among the most critically acclaimed games out there.

Why isn't PoE among them?
