The reason Iron Grip exists and Iron Will doesn't is that spells have higher base damage than weapons in general. The Iron Will support is basically "Hey you have strength? Here have increased damage!" whereas Iron Grip as a support is "You have one projectile attack that doesn't use a bow? Here's some damage and free nodes"

Use Iron Grip Gem when you have Lightning Strike.

Use Iron Grip Keystone when you have a Bow.

Use Iron Will Gem when you have significant Strength and use spells.
