"Avoid Elemental Ailments" map mod
Hello everyone,
I'm currently playing a flameblast ignite build and run into some trouble. All "annoying" map mods can be counterbalanced in one way or another, but not the "Avoid Elemental Ailments". Reflect You can get some item with reduc reflect, passive in the the skill tree, pantheon with Yugul, and even sextant can immune you. No leech You can still get some regen, potion, stone golem ..etc No regen Again, some potion, leech ...etc And so, for the "Avoid Elemental Ailments" (exemple 90%) even if i got: +50% ignite chance from a 10 stage flameblast (+5% per stage) +49% ignite chance from combustion support +60% ignite chance from skill tree and item +14% ignite chance from flammability I still got only 10% chance to ignite something. Because it's 90% "avoid" and the ignite chance don't counterbalance that. At first I thought it was not too annoying, but after a map with 90% Avoid Elemental Ailments. After 2 pack of trash mob (2 really long pack of trash), i finally just rush the boss, putting flamedash in the flameblast setup, to kill it slowly, and just leave. The problem is not that there are a map mod to counterbalance the Elemental Ailments, but the fact that we can do absolutely nothing against. Plus the fact we still got reflect to manage, it strongly limits the rare doable map (specially the corrupted high tier map). In short, it's like a map with "Monsters dodge 90% of your hits". Doable ? with enough time ...yes ? Fun ? Hell no Edit: Also, with Awakening level 8, you can get map with total immunity to elemental ailment Solution I know it's not perfect but we could probably replace the "avoid" by "reduce" ? With some tweak in those value of course. Builds that use elemental ailments as their primary source of damage will be penalized but not as much as now. Even with a "-100% chance to elemental ailment", those build can still be playable. Because very often we exceed those value (see the number above). It can also indirectly give value to certain item affix like "+X% freeze/ignite/shock chance". Last edited by uberloutre#0665 on Jan 12, 2020, 5:55:49 AM Last bumped on Jan 5, 2020, 8:29:40 AM
