Using Hunter's Exalted Orb on item lower than 60 ilvl

So I've got this helmet with free prefix slot

but it's only ilvl 36.
What will hapen when I use Hunter's Exalted Orb on it? Do I still get the guaranteed influenced mod?
I can see on PoeDB that the lowest ilvl for hunter mods are 68. So what's gonna happen with item lower than that?
I don't want to waste the orb so I'd rather ask. Has anyone ever tried it?
