This is not fact but because ranged stay further away *most* builds have chracters focusing on dps rather than survivability. This means ranged with generally be further away when things die and are more likely to miss out on items much more often than a melee chracter. " ranged characters can wear the exact same gear a melee wears (minus the melee weapon) and put out way more damage all the while standing in melee range. IMO both ranged and melee have the same survival ability, its just melee cant deal 1/10th the damage i do. this is why if/when i host public groups i always kick melee out, no damage potential and they stand on my loot. |

" Completely agree but generally melee charcters invest in more defensive nodes (armour, evasion, extra life) and can use shield (vs bow charctaers). They also use enduance charges while ranged chracters CAN use it how many actually do? Plus you made my point... melee have an andavtage in looting. That was my entire point to begin with. |

However, this is a video game in an imaginary world with monsters, and magic gems that give people abilities, and people who die but come back to life only forgetting 15% of their memory for that age. Real life warfare does not take these issues into account. If I had enduring cry in real life I'd be doing some crazy shit... |

The reason melee sucks is because monsters in the endgame maps, bosses mostly, just do too much damage for a melee to handle properly, unless he has kaoms, even with kaoms you can still die pretty easy at a map boss like vaal.
they need to just nerf the damage on bosses in 70+ maps already,and also lightning thorns needs a damn nerf too. " I think the correct way to go about it would be to lower direct damage dealt and introduce new and interesting ways to maintain the current damage monsters deal i.e: Monsters that can stack two curses on you or do enhanced versions of x/y/z. It should be something that is difficult but can be mitigated with smart play so Kaom's + 6 endurance charges doesn't become mandatory. |
