My suggestions for how Synthesis content could be improved and added to the base game
" I started after bestiary, but as i understand it they did actually add most of the content from bestiary to the game. They streamlined it, and what do you know, it's great! I'd say most people enjoy bestiary and it's content, even if you don't. Remember, in Path of Exile, you have choice! So if you don't like something, what do you do? Don't interact with it! You can ignore the Memory Cortex's existence if you want to. The memories in maps would just be like the temple instances of loot for you. I'd compare the Nexus to the temple, just more complicated and combined with a puzzle version of Delve. I'm also gonna guess you don't do the Temple. I'd say you're more worried about the opportunity cost and the fact that others will do content that you don't enjoy. But for you, that's actually a good thing! This is a trade game! You can trade for synthesized items, even if you don't bother with creating them yourself. Chances are they will nerf any super strong synth mods too, so nexus time will be devalued somewhat regardless. |

Apart from the bug and the crafting (because way too much RNG involved, screw such an RNG extent seriously), I kinda liked synthesis.
But, it was too time consuming / management heavy to be added to the core game in its state. It would have been tedious, that's why it would need to be simplified and made "shorter", were it to ever be added to the core game imo. I agree with most points in the OP though, just not sure about the 5th. SSF is not and will never be a standard for balance, it is not for people entitled to getting more without trading.

There are several points I'd say should be changed as well. For example, the randomness of memory fragments should be removed and all memory fragments should be 4 way, depending on how many stabilizers you can reach within given time. This way you can reward best players who can open them all up or give choice to slower players allowing them to create a memory connection they require.
The memory fragment buffs you can find in the special memory fragments should also work on fragments you haven't been on before. The speed of decay could be tied together with how fast you wipe out mobs in the memory, allowing players to slow it down by killing mobs. Also, give me us Memory Nexus hideout please? PS: Props to the composer for making the synthesis masterpieces: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NlY8VkkDZzc Last edited by krytyk411#0717 on Jan 10, 2020, 8:08:00 AM
