New atlas is way better than the old one, BUT ....

After you get the first 20(?) watchstone, the rng gated progression is really annoying. Fuck RNG gated progression.

Okay, so I decide to just ignore this bullshit and map, I can just spam T16s anyways without getting cancer from trading now (YES!). But no, clearly GGG didn't learn from the master mission bullshit and the game is forcing me to do crap again that I don't want to.

If influence spawns I can no longer sextant the stones. If I get Sirius I have to do him now (maybe I don't want to RIP exp atm?).

Dear GGG, please stop forcing me to do shit I don't want to. Make the Elderslayers drop fragments instead of spawning the fight I can do it if and when I want to. And stop ruining my mapping experience with tedious shit I don't want to do when I just want to run some maps.

Are you sure about this? I haven't tried ignoring Sirus so I honestly don't know what happens, but it would very much surprise me if GGG pulled this complete 180 from the way Elder used to work. Because that was one of the better design features in Uber Elder: you got 20 maps in your own Atlas before he would disappear (a lot more if you didn't kill the map bosses), just to give players a chance to finish their current level and/or the opportunity to run maps on other builds within the same league.
Yes I am. here's a screenshot for my atlas: https://i.imgur.com/0iFGe8J.png

I have influence in two areas. As you can see, the watchtower aren't visible anymore, you can't take stones out, or sextant the stones until you run the random amount of maps required to spawn (and kill) the Elderslayer for the influence to go away.

The worst part about this is, that even if I were to do the rng gated bullshit to get *all* the watchstones, influence can still spawn and you still have to deal with this crap.

If you're talking about Sirius, yes you can wait and finish the level, but then you can't spawn another one in the meantime...

Why can't they make him a fragment map or an atlas mission or something?

Greetings,

You can make the RNG work for you...pretty easily. You block one or many zone(s) with an influence you do not need (because you got that stone in that zone). Voila! There is still a little bit of luck to it, but you can raise your chances over 50% easily and 75% or 100% with a little of brain power.

Thank you

No, I got all of that. I'm asking, will you lose the chance to spawn Sirus if you don't talk to Zana and open the portal? Because I would have expected you to be allowed to just... save that fight by not talking to Zana, at least for some number of maps.

You can, but it's basically the same thing as having the sulphite tank full for delve and not doing delve before they reworked atlas missions.

Okay, just checking because that's not at all what you said in your original post and I was worried that it's just bad enough of an idea to be real

Yeah should have been more explicit about what I mean, sorry.
