An In-depth Proven Guide for Acquiring All 32 Watchstones

Hello Exiles,

My name is Static and since the beginning of my progression into the Atlas, I have encountered numerous frustrations due to the limited information provided by the creators of this game. For the past few days, I was unable to acquire my last watchstone because I did not what I was doing wrong. Before that, I was only successful in my progression by implementing the anecdotal methods that other players had shared via youtube, this forum, general chat, etc.

Nevertheless, I have seen several people sharing their plights on this forum and in-game far too frequently, and before now, I was only able to empathize with their hardships without being able to offer any help.

In order to help you in your atlas progression, I'm going to share 3 essential rules you must follow:

1) This is perhaps the most important rule.

Conquerors spawn sequentially; that is, you cannot spawn the same Conqueror twice in a row. You must defeat all of the other Conquerors before you can spawn your targeted Conqueror.

For example, if the watchstone you need is influenced by another Conqueror, you must defeat that Conqueror and ensure no other regions are influenced by the Conqueror you are targeting.

In addition to this, while I cannot confirm this to be factual, it has been my experience since early in the league that it is impossible to again generate influence in any regions prior to beginning the Sirus encounter.

2) Ensure that you unlock all of the citadels. There is a very linear progression in the general story line that requires you to unlock every citadel. Some people have tried to generate influence on their atlas prior to discovering every citadel. I suspect this is causing them to "get stuck".

3) Maps of any tier will work to effect that you generate influence in your targeted region as well as to spawn the Conqueror.

Whether or not this is a bug, I do not know, but opening lower tier maps repeatedly was the method I used today (12/31) to spawn my final Conqueror.

Some people have claimed that in order to generate influence, you must open red tier maps first. However, this is unconfirmed and untrue because I was able to generate influence by opening yellow and white tier maps in the past. Again, I do not know if this is a bug.

Besides the above 3 essential rules, there are a few "tin-foil hat" tricks you can employ to generate influence:

1) Switch your hideout temporarily and open maps in your target region.

2) Swap your socketed watchstones with watchstones from other regions.

3) Ensure you clear all of the beginning areas near your starting portal.

4) Attempt to open every single map from that region at least once.

5) Run as many different maps as possible. Do not repeat the same maps.

Although the information I have provided is not absolute because GGG has not verified it, I hope that my guide will help you be successful in fully unlocking your atlas.

So for something I'm confused on. If I need 2 watchstones to spawn Conqueror, can I socket 2 and do a map that is tier 1?

Can I socket 2 Watchstones, Run a Beach Tier 1 Map, and will that spawn Conqueror? The Beach Map will go up in Tier once Socketed but if I don't have THAT Tier of Beach map, do I need to grind for it?

Thanks for your explanation on other things I was confused about it.

Bump... people on the forum keep asking the same questions I answer in this thread

Correct, you may run Beach t1 to spawn a Conqueror.

Map tier does not matter whatsoever. What matters is whether or not you meet the minimum Watchstone requirement indicated on the side of your atlas for that region (i.e. "Number of Socketed Watchstones: X Required to Spawn Conqueror")

I have all 32 watchstones, but only minutes ago, I opened a t3 Mesa map to find the last hiding place (3/3) of the Conqueror.

Sorry but this isn't entirely correct. For the first spawn of a conquerer you need to run a map of the tier specified. Only for encounter 2 and 3 you can run any map.
Well I here I was farming T6's so I can get to T8s to get T10s as the Watchstone creates them.

This is not consistent with my experience. I have tried running lower tier (than displayed) maps on numerous occasions and NEVER spawned a conqueror's influence that way. For me, the first (influence spawn) map needs to be the tier shown on the atlas. The second and third maps can be any tier.

I had exactly one time (in 15 watchstones to date) where a first map of the tier showing failed to spawn influence. That was a t13 Channel map (Glennach Cairns). Not sure whether that was a bug due to Channel appearing for the first time at t13, or possibly because it wasn't a corrupted map. More experimentation needed on both fronts.

But if you try to run a low tier map in a higher tier region, I don't think you will get influence.

I have done it several times within the last few days. It is possible.

Perhaps... Nevertheless, this guide was intended for people who are "stuck" in their atlas progression, which presumes the player has already acquired their first 4-12 watchstones.
What if all watchstones are gathered, 3 influence spawned, but 4th not spawning and conq not spawning in influenced areas as well?

no matter what I try, white, yellow, red maps, juiced maps, only 4 stones in non influenced area, each map in a zone, nothing works.
if you nerf 10 gems out of 30, you automatically buff the other 20!
