3.9 has ruined path of exile for me personally

Shaper got bumped from 18m HP to 68m HP (with the increase in damage resistance, that's over 4x the health). I used to phase him in 4-5 seconds. Now it's 30ish per phase. Minotaur used to be a 4-5 second fight, now it's 20-30.

Probably depends on how many millions of DPS you have if you'll notice, but mid-damage, mid-defense (8k life, a few defensive layers) builds got absolutely ruined by the buff unless you're a god and can dodge absolutely everything all the time (in which case, let's just give them a billion hp and call it a day).

sounds to me that they just made the game worse
yeah they just making it more tedious.... increasing difficulty of old content is lazy game development. the smart thing would be to continue to grow the game while allowing further level/exp growth. nearly all games approach it that way.

and also why keep using the same humanoid models for vast amount of bosses like guardians and conquerors, why couldnt we have some huge dragons or whatever.... make a hydra an actual hydra.... jeeez.... who runs their creativity departmentnot that a hydra would be original and creative.... but neither is a boring archer type humanoid.....

Barring the usual gripes about bugs and inflating mob HP which kills build diversity, 3.9 has been one of the best experiences I've had in all the time I've played this game. The Atlas is in the best state it's ever been where you can sustain red maps without relying on very specific and expensive strategies, and metamorphs are rewarding despite how broken they are in T14+ maps. This is also the only time I've made it this far in challenges completed, because the experience has been enjoyable to keep me invested for this long.

The only time I had this much fun in a league was during Betrayal. Reward agency no matter how small (Metamorph has it, but nowhere near as good as Betrayal) has done a lot in letting people like me actually enjoy the game.
PoE players: Our game has a wide diversity of builds.

Also PoE players: The [league mechanic] doesn't need to be nerfed, you just need to play a [current meta] build!

MFers found strength in their Afflictions. They became reliant on them. I am not so foolish.

That's all fine and dandy only if we could make such chars that aren't based 3-4 ascendacies.

Something feels off in the 3.9.
Game is designed/set to be played decently fast, yet fast archetypes don't manage well in 3.9 with league content and overall difficulty raise (in general).
It's kinda fast paced game but punishes you for not playing tanks, which are on the slow end of speed scale.
Don't want someone to get the wrong idea that I personally have issues completing the content, but still it feels weird. It would feel terrible if I happened to play with something that's not tanky, dying every other map to who knows what.

Game rly needs an overhaul and I hope 2.0 will set things right.
i also have a hard time forgetting how gameplay and endgame were before this league to cope with the new difficulty.

but hating the game/league/xxx has never stopped me from starting the client the next day again.

This is suppose to be a bow nerf league and is a mistake to play bow build.

If you look at the rangers section, it is kinda pathetic at the moment with so many builds no longer playable.

This is like saying, gg to you if you're playing evasion build because life and armor build is the standard.

Kinda agree with you, maybe not ruined expansion/league but not fun at all. Didn't even make it past storyline... I guess investing more time and effort into getting same rewards or even less due to content taking longer to complete is not actually very fun.

Well, to all who were screaming to slow down the game you've got it :) Tankier/slower builds got it even more :D

When did they test anything properly last time, I'm not even talking about red maps. I wonder if the devs would actually enjoy the content they create if they would be sat and asked to play from beginning to SIRUS and kill him. I knew I didn't want to and this fatness bump was bulls*it.

At least they would maybe have a clue what they are doing.
