Annulment orb removed all catalyst bonuses

I used defense catalysts on shaper influenced crystal belt to get to 20%, then after crafting I annuled the mod that I wanted to annul but at the same time the 20% defense modifiers bonus dissapeared

It removed a modifier AND quality from the item - how is that not a bug.
Btw quality is not a modifier it only affects modifiers |

I feel like crafting with catalyst on it is super dumb right now, since you don't know when you'll have to annul or exalt slam, then you'll waste the catalyst you use beforehand. But then using catalyst after you are done crafting is also super costly, some catalyst cost 10c+ each and using 20 of them would cost 200c..

" it's basically a gamble, if you end up not needing to annul - you save 160c, if you have to annul - you lost 40c, unless you fail and have to recraft, then fail again and again and again, you have to fail recrafting+annuling 5 times to lose money (assuming catalysts are 10c each) |

You lose 20% by just annuling though, how can you fail 5 times? I tried to annul something off of a crystal belt today and lost all 20%
Also even if you only lose 5% from alt regal crafting, losing 5% after regal means if you successfully regaled a stat you want and decide to keep it, you'll have to use 5 catalysts to make that item 20% quality again since you only get 1% per catalyst once the item is rare. Again, still pretty costly for a little stat boost. Not to mention if you want to exalt slam you'll also lose 20% quality. (not sure if slamming with Leo in research would avoid losing quality though) At this point, I'm not even gonna bother using them unless I hit some godly gear that spending 100-200c on catalysts is justified |
