The hype train becomes Titanic, 3.9 is a huge failure.
The league mechanic is good.
The expansion is absolutely terrible in every way other than awakening levels. Path of Exile has never been in a worst technical state ever, the buggiest release ive ever witnessed. Im not able to play at all for 5 days now (as are many other players) because of the memory leak issue, while my friends who do not have this issue are stuck at the bugged watchstone quest or are generally complaining about all the ONE SHOT bullshit/the poor performance in FPS or PING and absolutely hate the current game balance state and most of them already lost interest. And HC trade has never been this dead, its basically SSF. 2/10 POE experience. Just because I'm paranoid doesn't mean they're not out to get me. This league is just straight up hot garbage. Sorry there's just no debate to be had here. It's trash plain and simple.
They ruined the hardcore gaming experience completely I don't even know if it's salvageable after the changes they made this league. It really pisses me off because this year I got back in after a long break and finally became a financial supporter because I got a better job IRL and it was like a month later "Thanks for the cash here's a steaming pile of feces in your mouth in return" I loved Betrayal despite the lag and REALLY REALLLLLY loved Blight again despite the lag. Synthesis was meh but at least not destructive and easily dismissed. This!? This is actually a deal breaker. I literally can't bring myself to play the game anymore and I hate the feeling because I honestly love this game for years now. It's a heart breaker to even think that this will be the way of things from here on out. I will sadly have to hit steam sale and try to distract myself from this disaster. Long time hardcore player, trader, item provider signing off till they fix it. Peace Last edited by Vampyrex#5188 on Dec 21, 2019, 3:02:25 PM

People developed bad habits when the game became too easy, and now that they've toughened things up a bit they cry about it. That's on them. They'll come back when they get over their tantrum.

The bosses are grossly overtuned and are still nowhere near rewarding enough to do other than the initial atlas bonus.

" People developed bad habits when they are in the same place for a long time. They end up believing that something is good when it is not. I left more than 2 years bored of the technical problems of the game. I came back a week ago and I find practically the same technical problems. And to you, the blind white knight defending a company as bad as Bethesda in terms of solving technical problems of his games. Bethesda is known for having good ideas and terrible realization of them. GGG is a Bethesda subsidiary or what?

1) The black on black this league is ridiculous. They even released cosmetics in the boxes that add even more black (flame dash, footsteps, whole damn set, huge ass dragons), you can't see shit, so using all of that is not advisable.
2) If the metamorph is difficult, you have a very short time span to react to its attacks, since he initiates the attack while morphing from blob to npc. It's difficult to see what he morphs into to begin with. 3) The fact that the organs are not distributed randomly by an equal % between map bosses is just plain stupid. Why do that? For each ~25-30 organs i get 1 eye. 4) Map navigation in the stash tab is extremely uncomfortable, if i need to run several maps in an influenced area, i need to toggle stash and atlas. Overall the stash tab utility is being undermined by new atlas mechanic. Not to say people in standard got absolutely fucked by the map conversion bug. 5) Old atlas progression was straight forward, i don't see why they decided to complicate things with this watchstone bullshit. Obviously in time i'll get used to it, but for newer players, or people playing casually, i'm sure it's not a welcome change. 6) the organ pickup that was mindnumbingly tedious. As is with each league, i prefer to play 2-3 weeks after launch, when bugs are fixed, economy stabilizes and market is rich, but here it's more like a month-6 weeks would be enough for them to make this league comfortable to play. I like the league a lot.
The mechanics are nice and laid back. Not overcomplicated. I even like the Atlas. Of course there is some one shot bullshit / massive chaos degen from to time, but it seems the game simply can't exist without those. And honestly it's rare enough that it's fine. |

The league is huge success. The reasons are simple:
1.After one week from start there is still 93k players on Steam, which means approx. 150k overall. This means: 2.Despite the huge amount of bugs and overall stability problems, developers can still count on 150k free beta testers, 3.Many of which are "new players", who do not yet have the necessary (and unnecessary) stash tabs. What's more, they don't even know which stash tabs are necessary and which are not, so they will probably buy them all. 4.Based on questions and forum entries, it can be concluded that there has been a significant "playerbase shift", which means that old players who already have all the "tabs" have quit and do not clutter the servers. 5.Thanks to changes in the atlas, players playing "standard" have been deterred from playing. This is a very undesirable group of players who do not buy anything but only occupy servers. Overall, from the point of view of Tencent, the league is a significant success. You have been placed on probation for: ● Make hateful or needlessly negative comments ● Personally attack or cause harm to the reputation of others ● Antagonise others in an obnoxious manner ●
