What are some poe trade etiquette and rules to be followed while trading
I want to know what to reply when someone say's "Hi i would like to buy your X"
would "Sure come to my ho" sound good? so wanted to know how to greet someone when they come to your hideout like "welcome" maybe? after trading "have a good day" does that sound motivating? also will the buyer find it offensive if i kick them immediately after trading? " This is an automatic message, you don't need to respond to it. Invite them and they'll come. " What I use is "thanks gl". It is short and polite enough. You can also set up a stock automatic message if you wish. Don't go overboard with being polite, people do hundreds of trades per day, you'll only get tired of it. " Absolutely not. The whole point of partying up is to trade. Hell, if you do it its actually better because they don't have to do it. |

Greetings,
Be ready with your currency in your inventory and be fast. I use Mercury trade and I have a bunch of pre-defined messages. My thank you reads: Thank you very much and I wish you a great day!. Many times sellers will engage me with thank you you too have a great day, etc. The best thing is to always be polite. If a player is rude, just ignore it. If you had a fix price and a player tries to negotiate, be polite. There are some culture that it is common to haggle.Be cognizant of that. Thank you |

Dude, don't overthink this. If someone whispers you to buy an item, invite them, trade, say "thx" or "t4t" (thanks for trading) and leave the party. That's it. Not a rocket science.

Don't forget to post about the trade afterward here in the forum.

The seller just invites the buyer, the buyer comes to the sellers hideout, the seller sends trade request, both players put in the items to trade (make sure to not get scammed, many scammers out there), after trade there is usually a ty, t4t, gl or something like that from both sides, and that is it, who kicks/leaves the party and how fast doesn't really matter.

Einhar's Beastly Guide to Trade Etiquette in PoE
--Sellers have likely forgotten your first 3 PM's for the same item. Keep PMing them until they come out of the map. --When shortchanging sellers, always short the LAST stack of currency so they have a chance to catch you at it. Shorting a stack in the first or second middle row is bad manners! --If a seller only lists one of an item, clearly he's sitting on heaps more and you should help him sell them by pestering him about how many others he has. Make it clear you won't settle for just one! --say "T4T" after you scam a mark with a non-6L inpulsa. We know he should be thanking YOU, but it's just good business! --When the seller is in a map, make sure he has left the map before you leave the party in spite. After all, he made you wait. --Always wait for the buyer to follow you to the acts craphole you were in trying to knock off a cheap prophecy, then go to your HO and lead him on a merry chase. --If you are invited to trade with a seller and they're in a loot pinata instance such as Atzoatl or a safehouse, feel free to walk right in and help carry stuff. :) [19:36]#Mirror_stacking_clown: try smoke ganja every day for 10 years and do memory game

1) Don't pm someone and then sit in the trade menu for a year, cancel the trade and then say sorry. If you're too fucking stupid to not check the level req of the item or fickle enough to cancel on the spot for no reason, THEN DON'T EVEN PM THE PERSON!
2) Don't pm someone over and over who isn't responding, especially over 1-2c items. If it's something you REALLY need, then reply with only one second message saying that it's important to you and please respond later if they're busy. Assume that most of the time NO RESPONSE = NO LONGER FOR SALE. No one wants to respond to 20+ people saying "sorry sold" over and over. 3) Don't pm someone and haggle them down on an item that is already cheap. I've sold multiple items for chaos that most would list for an ex and I still get idiots who pm me trying to get the price down. If you NEED the item, then just buy it. Trust me you'll make the chaos back later. Only haggle if the item truly is overpriced, talking like 20c+ 4) Don't sit in people's hideouts long after the trade is over, this can cause connection issues for the person that owns the hideout. Trade and GET OUT. 5) DO NOT pm someone for a trade asking X amount of a certain currency and you put up less with other random ass currencies. If someone is asking for X, then that's what they want. If you are low on currency and REALLY do need to sub in some lower currencies, then ASK beforehand. Don't just expect them to take it, that's rude AF. 6) If you pm someone for a trade then you go to their hideout, never expect someone to come to yours unless you are having connectivity issues or something else that prevents you from coming to theirs. I may think of more later, but this stuff has been a staple for me while trading over the years. Last edited by UnholyHanma#6280 on Dec 21, 2019, 4:55:36 PM
