Can i activate fearsome force with non-self cast?

I'm pretty sure you can't. The general convention is that triggered skills aren't "used" for this sort of condition. Convocation is a Minion skill that's instant and has a three second cooldown, so it's an easy way to keep "if you've used a Minion skill recently" condition active.
