Killing kitava

Hello,

I saw that you lose 30% elemantal resistance when you kill kitava? For act 5 and act 10.

Two questions
1) can you even lose møre elemantal resistance if you die often ar that fight ?
2) what is the best strategy to get møre elemental resistance after act 10? Running maps in atlas is hard i guess with no resistance or not much

Thanks in advance

You don't lose more.
Get better gear with more resist. You can usually buy upgrades for quite cheaply from other players.
You lose them upon killing Kitiva in act 10 and completion of the fight in a5 (when sin carries you away).

You dont lose any because you die during the fight. To get more resists just find or buy gear with resists on it. You can also craft resists on certain items with open suffixes in your hideout.

You only lose 30% after the fight in Act 5. You only lose another 30% after the fight in Act 10. You do not lose resistance during the fight or regardless of how many times you do during the fights.

So at end of act 10 you have resistance of -60% for fire, cold, lightning and chaos.

You can get resistances from passives on skill tree and most gear. If you have negative resistances when you start maps you will not find it an enjoyable experience. You will die often, even to some trash mobs, and certainly and rare and unique creatures with elemental attacks and any bosses. If you play a minion build your minions will also need to have resistances otherwise you will be re-summoning them all the times, which is also not much fun.

Edit: Monsters and map mods can also cause your resistances to be temporarily reduced as well so it is best to be over capped on resistances wherever possible.
