No Fossils spawn in Delve?

I played delve and had no issues finding fossils back then. Right now I'm at depth 52 in Metamorph League and found 2 stash tabs full of RESONATORS but not a single FOSSIL. And I mean, not a single fossil chest, all I get is resonator chests. Especially behind walls, I get resonator chests 100% of the time.
Was something changed that fossils only spawn after a certain depth? Or is this a bug? Someone else had this issue? Last bumped on Dec 18, 2019, 2:31:42 PM

52 is pretty shallow to be finding a lot of fossils

Have you played since Delve? Not an accusation, mind.
They changed it so fossils are less likely to be found at lower levels (to prevent easy farming). You have to go down much lower. They are also more likely to spawn behind walls. |

you need to reach depths where the monster levels are equivalent to yellow maps, maybe even a little further, to be able to begin reliably finding fossils and even then going deeper will net you more.

You need to be delving around monster level 80+ to see fossil caches in the darkness. They made it so fossils typically do not appear in any zone above depth 60 or so.
Your best return on investment for fossils will probably not start until you get to about 1500-2000 depth. Nearly all the less common fossils have been restricted to these depths (fractured, hollow, sanctified). The good news is, the bow builds that o well at this depth are getting new tools.
