Autoloot for currency (in settings with on/off)

Greetings,

I'm asking the GGG team!

Is there any ongoing discussion or future plan about adding Autoloot function into the game?
I've been playing this game for 7 years, but the most annoying thing is to pick up the dropped items especially the currency. It would be so healthier if I could switch on an Autoloot function (as a prototype it would work only for currency) and I could pick up items automatically whenever I walk nearby them.

If there is no any plan for this, then I would suggest it to be. :)
I think a lot of people will be much happier while playing.

Currency has value because it require effort to pick it up.

Auto-pickup would be dumbing down the game as you take away one of the choices players have to make, whether to pick up currency or not.

Making a game easier (gameplay that is, not QoL changesa) is almost always a bad decision.
Currency aside, I just want the meta pieces autolooted.

Partly true only.
Currency has value for the time-investment needed to create it as well as the time-investment for picking it up.
Also the value of low-tier currency is minimal after the first acts, a reduction of 20% below fusings/alchs already solves this issue completely, starting with alchs and fusings people pick them up any time anyway while their amount is fairly small, this wouldn't create a large imbalance in the rate of time-investment.

Ususally crafting is a side-mechanic to allow the creation of awesome items, the focus should be on items directly, not on currency. Giving an incentive to pick up items (as our inventory isn't used for anything else then after all!) is a good thing long-term.

Then that's fine after all, picking up crap isn't ARPG-gameplay, it's QoL. The same reason why the discussion for the sheer existence of wisdom- and portal-scrolls is a viable one, their sheer abundance makes them not worth anything and they could be just removed entirely by now, with the portal-gem giving a boost on the speed of portal-creation.
GGG balance is like getting a pizza which is burnt on the sides, raw in the middle and misses the most of the toppings.
Then upon sending it back you get a raw side, burnt middle and enough toppings to drench everything in grease.
Everything fixed but still broken.
No... i want to pick up my currency.. picking up an Exalted orb never gets old.. its exciting every single time. I dont want that feeling to go away. and i KNOW if it was an on/off option i would turn it on to go faster.. but i would have lost something i loved about PoE.

But please.. metamorph pieces autoloot that i would welcome

Agreed all around. There IS something about the act of picking up something valuable! Even more so in FFA or SA wile in a group. (even with friends and not competing, these loot modes are better for sharing and more fun IMO)

Auto currency pickup would not be compatible with groups using anything but perm loot. Even further limiting choices by players who prefer FFA or SA.

you cant really have it for 'just single player' either, because you would get used to not picking up currency while soling, and then joining group game and you'll be backtracking to pick everything up. (or if its FFA/SA others will do that for you)

Metamorph parts are not even normal inventory items, and only one person should be looting them in a group anyway, so they really SHOULD be auto-pickup if anything would be.

Yes, that definitely needs some work. Given auto-pickup would be implemented then those loot-options need to automatically assign the drop to a specific player. This means that you have to trade them over to the others in a group.

Though... given the absolutely insane bonuses a group gets it would cause the group-play to get more in line with solo-play, reducing the already unfair advantage via the methods of stacking quant to at least bring it a bit more in line with the solo-players.

auto loot for everything, the chinese oficial poe has it if im not mistaken and it's very nice.
Autoloot should be a thing. Manual pickup is a relic of ancient times.
Organic chemistry is a weird thing. If you add a spoon of shit to a barrel of jam you'll get a barrel of shit.
