I don't really understand this QQ aboutbthe zombie nerfs. It was broken in 3.8, and it deserves the nerf.

It's like these people complaining never played Necro before Blight.......and I'm certain many did not.

Necro was always good, even very good, but now after tasting the forbidden OP powers everyone is acting like it's the end of the world.

I’m pretty sure it was sarcasm making fun of people saying they were overnerfed.

Perhaps showing the screenshot with 410k zombie life, from 3.8, might have tipped you off.

I played a necro in 3.7, and they certainly received an insane boost in 3.8. Even after the needed nerfs in 3.9 they are still monsters compared to 3.7. As you pointed out, they didn’t exactly suck then either, just not the meta tier they were last league.

Perhaps you should start with changing your mindset. If you stop thinking of a game as an “investment” you’ll lose the attachment you have to it. Then you’ll care even less about op classes AND classes getting nerfed. It’s weird how much more enjoyable something it when it’s looked at as entertainment instead of as work.

Maybe i should have clipped it and underlined the important bit, as i think your the only one who looked at the SS.


It's mostly sarcasm, although this isnt achievable by the casual player, nor should it be. The point is you can have ungodly tanks *IF* you invest into them. The problem in 3.8 was you can have indestructible zombies with practically zero investment (other than skill tree).

I should go see if they still get oneshotted in HoGM >.>

Like the people that enjoy playing/watching soccer, but then have to switch to playing baseball because someone made all the soccer balls cubes and playing that game was no longer as much fun?

Are soccer players too invested in playing soccer? Should baseball players be willing to switch to playing hockey because it is the new meta?

Some people like watching soccer. Some like playing certain builds. They don't like those builds getting nerfed.

If GGG/Tencent wants a billion plus players, they need to learn that.

For one, that is on standard. And second, this is most likely due to broken gear mechanics, like the Baron.

The way it was in leagues before 3.8, was that zombie life with skilltree and the gem itself was inadequate. Instead of nerfing zombie life, they should have nerfed the broken gear allowing zombie life to get that high.
**Very late edit of above paragraph, as I messed up what it said.**

Regular zombies before 3.8 in league, were usually just one shot by any meaningful boss/few mob hits. Now in blight league zombie life was actually acceptable. What is the point of playing necromancer with should be permanent minions, when all you have to do is keep re-summoning them every 10 seconds. Instead of being able to focus on actual gameplay, and doing something besides re-summoning.

If you play standard and use standard's gear, you really shouldn't take part in a discussion about balance. Standard has too much legacy/broken gear on it for it to be included in a meaningful discussion about balance. You can just about make any build look overpowered using standard.

GGG should really only look at who bases their idea of balance on leagues, which have the most recent fixes and changes, instead of on those who play standard.

There are also more types of zombie builds than just life builds, some players make CI necromancers(like me). Making life/strength gear useless, and therefor can't base zombie life directly from it.
