Impale in 3.9
Hello guys, we the release of the patch note, I don't really understand how impale changes. Is it me that will hit lesser ? Or the ennemy ? Impale hit mean what ? Impale is a debuff then...
Patch note: "Impale Support Now grants supported skills -30% to Total Physical damage Reduction against Impale Hits at all gem levels. Passive Tree Balance Added a new, very similar, stat: Enemies you Impale have -X% to Total Physical Damage Reduction against Impale Hits. This has been added to the Forceful Skewering and Swift Skewering clusters." (I'm a french player, then something can be missundersanding for myself ^^') Last bumped on Dec 11, 2019, 8:56:07 AM

As they upped armor on some monsters and impale would be ineffective against those monsters, this is to counter this effect.

" As Filousov said they are buffing monster's armor and elemental resistances which means you will do less physical damage to monsters. Also they will bring a new stat -X% to Total Physical Damage Reduction from your Hits so you can do more physical damage. However that stat will not affect impale hits due to how impale works. So they will bring a new stat as well for impale so you can do harder impale hits. |

Impale will be just fine if you are using Impale support.

I honestly think that if you take both impale clusters that should be enough. They are adding it also to impale clusters.

I always thought impale was calculated as reflected physical damage and didn’t hit. As such it bypassed physical damage reduction given that it had previously been calculated into the initial strike. :/ It hits, but it is not you hitting...
