Build suggestion for my type of playstyle.
Hi, Im a new player.
I have some priorities to choose class and I cant decide. 1) I want to play in ssf league. Because I dont want to play with one sword or one item. I just want to change it gradually when I found something. I dont want to aim for a specific spear or something. 2) I like melee builds with sick armors and weapons. Character should look sick. 3) I want to change my weapons gradually like I said. I dont want just axe build. I can play with many weapons if it is possible. It can be just one-handed or just two-handed but I dont want "just axes" or something like that. So, this is it. These are builds that I found. You can choose one of them or you can show me another one. Welcome :)
I know what you mean. So, I am very sorry to say that melee is in a terrible state in PoE. However it is still worth a try anyway. I personally love to play the ground slam, because it looks cool. ;) Slayers can be pretty tanky too. Sick (visible) armour comes through micro transactions. There is almost non class / build themed look in this game. Next league will be a bow league. I have doubts that melee builds will have much fun with league specific mechanics. Let's explore new playstyles - Play it your own way, not just like the others.
Quality management is one of the most underrated success factors in every business... |

" While it's certainly possible to play SSF right from the start, it's probably not the best approach for most people. It can be quite frustrating to suddenly discover that you REALLY need something that's available very cheaply in trade, but may take you hours to find on your own. You can play in trade league and choose to use only SSF equipment. That gives you the satisfaction of finding your own gear, with a little safety margin as a new player if you need it. It's true that the league mechanics the last couple of leagues were designed around the "meta" build for the league. But with the design-your-own boss content in Metamorph, I really want to believe that the intent is for you to design a boss that's an interesting challenge for your particular build. |

I will play in trade league for safety then. Thanks for the advice. Should I wait for the 3.9 by the way?
The main problem for me is perks like "%20 attack damage if you use one handed sword" or something like that. When I find good axe I want to play with it. When I find good sword I also want to play with it. "You must have this weapon for this build" is not my style. That is the reason I play other ARPG's over this game. I also dont like the skill system. I just want to play with a lot of different skills but meta gaming is strong on this one I guess. Choosing a main skill is not a good idea. Just saying. But this game looks very good. So I just want to find the best way to play this. |

well, the fact of it is this:
PoE expects you to specialize, and it rewards you for doing such. Sure, you can make builds that use more broad passives, they exist. but theyre not very close together. When people want to do what you mention (use what they find), because they found a really good weapon, is make a whole new character that can make that weapon shine. |

I can understand that. I just want to play this game after work 2-3 hours or something. I cant make a new char when I find good items. It will take time. So this game is not efficient for me.

I only looked at the first build you posted and it requires a Starforge sword. You are not going to find that in SSF, it only drops after killing Shaper at the end.
You can try mine if you want https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/2664371 It would probably work o.k in SSF because the weapons don't necessarily have to be top of the line to clear out maps. But I don't know of any way you can switch between swords and axes like you were saying. Because you have to upgrade one or the other in your skill tree. Builds

Seriously dont be afraid of SSF. Too many ppl here are afraid of it like its very difficult or something.
SSF is great way to learn how to depend on what Youll find. Also You wont waste Your time on trade because - at least for me - trade is pointless and very very time consuming. I playd SSF before SSF was introduced. Once i tried trading (buddy from guild introduced it to me) one time and never did it again. You will make mistakes but those are most precious when it comes to learning. Just pick any build that is not gear dependant. LiftiongNerdBro for example always do some league starter builds recommendation so check his vids https://www.youtube.com/user/LiftingNerdBro/videos Wait till he makes a vid for MetaMorph (or check earlier league starters) and choose something. If or rather when Youll find some build-defining gear then Youll make a new character. Dont be afraid of SSF. Its not that scary. Also dont have "i must finish it" approach. You wont. Only what You can do in PoE with limited time is to check how far can You get. Endgame is hard but game itself gives a lot of fun and satysfaction. |
