I don't think you realize that the first person that races to the boss will most likely get one-shot by it by not knowing the mechanics.

That's actually what's so cool about Conquerors of the Atlas as an expansion--you can fight the same bosses but progressively more powerful. The first time you face The Awakener, he'll be tuned around level... 70, I think? You face the conquerors at every level of map buffing (or lack of buffing, as the case may be), it seems.

When people face the conquerors the first time, they will probably be deliberately overleveled and, despite the SSF limiting their gear, may be able to power through the encounters to a certain extent. When they face them in their final forms, they should be a bit more familiar with the mechanics.

I really hope they tune the rewards appropriately. The way The Elder has things that only drop from Yellow+ or specifically Red encounters was good. I hope the conquerors are similar but even more tuned towards their best rewards at high levels.
