Will blight be toned down?
I hated blight and quit early because of it. The entire mechanic pigeon holed you into very specific builds and I feel like adding this mechanic into the core gameplay shows a significant lack of foresight unless it's intended to be toned down greatly. Getting a blight in your map for a ton of builds is just going to feel bad because it could of been any one of the other mechanics that they could actually engage in fully.

They're making it more challenging in red maps so.. tough, I guess?
"Some feedback from players was that Blight encounters became too easy in very high level areas. Our work on endgame difficulty in Conquerors of the Atlas has certainly affected Blight also, so you should see an appropriate level of difficulty for the rewards granted at high levels." You made a build that didn't do so well and felt compelled to use one that did better.
You can't expect a game like this to not have bad builds. You can't make all builds equally good or the game loses any sense of accomplishment. Grats on trying. It should be fun to try. Failing, not so much. But learn to get over it. |

I totally agree that blights was not the most exiting league i have played. Actually i have only done like 30 blights this league, just skipped them all.
I have not made any blight specific builds, and don't really see the problem - my builds handles blights perfectly - don't really think they are hard at all. I believe that any build can do them well ! I love the oil mechanic and happy too see that i still have the opportunity too get a passive node anywhere on the tree :-) I will probably do more blights in the future as there are blight map guaranteed and they only spawn in 1/10 maps. So well done GGG - i love having the diversity GGG offers when mapping - blight being one of them. |

Must say I liked Blight for the simple fact that I could skip right by it whenever I wanted to.

The blight-to-core manifesto said they are ramping up the difficulty on higher tier maps. Whether this means denser monsters, or tougher monsters, the end result will probably be that you have more entities on screen.

" I hope it means faster spawns, because right now blight takes forever to complete and drops nothing. And you don't even need the towers, god damn snozefest ;x |

" This would be what GGG was referring to when they said players were finding high level blight "too easy". expect it to be overtuned to satisfy this complaint. |

Blights are too easy? Simply amp up your t16 map mods as high as you can and make sure you get every curse (enfeeble, vulnerability, elemental weakness) + more mob life + more mob movement/attack/cast speed + crit/crit multi + beyond spawns + reduced damage from crits + ele/chaos resists + phys dmg reduction....etc
Then, hope that RNG favors you to get a shit ton of portals with several bosses in a spider leg formation in a map with no choke points available. You want a harder blight? Do that... Make sure to smile when every portal spawns proximity shields and you play a ranged build :) |
