It’s dangerous to announce a sequel. It runs the risk of destroying your current game while waiting. I vividly remember, I was a very strong Guild Wars player. I loved Guild Wars, I played it every single day until the day they announced Guild Wars 2, and then I felt no compulsion to ever log in to that game again once I knew there was a better version coming in the future. We desperately wanted to avoid that problem here, so announcing the sequel alongside a strong lineup of expansions leading to the sequel, getting a lot of its content in early, was the best plan we could come up with.

Because of that, we’ve been very careful to take as much out of Path of Exile 2, like the graphics system improvements and game systems and so on, and put them in the expansions between now and then. Really, what’s coming out on launch day is the new skill system and the new campaign, which will be very compelling, but Path of Exile will grow massively in the next year because of all the improvements coming down the pipeline.

Wait a second. I played guild wars like it wss crack. My friend Chris played it too and he left after the PC gamer magazine announcement of Guild Wars 2.

I really miss that game. Guild Wars 2 got rid of all the amazing systems and replaced them with fluff.

and rampant pay to win with 500 currencies. it's still not a bad game and it's, for some reason, disturbing to me how active it still is, but then again AION and FlyFF are still around too. How did Club Penguin die yet FlyFF lives?

Great perspective and totally makes sense. The more people playing in the GENRE of arpg the better...

It totally puts to bed any D4 vs POE 2 debate... Just let them both be fucking awesome that they bring in loads more players (but we all know POE will shit all over D4.. but would be cool if Blizzard can get something right for a change).

Chris talkes to much, he made rather redicoules statemant´s in the past, defenetly his weak spot. I assume it´s because of insecurity.
I can´t completly blame him, it´s genuin Interview stupidity, by not sending in the question´s bevor you get interviewed, zero preparation´s.

To pull the ""Boxer Announcment"" thing is classless, as if the entire gaming market revolves around Diablo and Path of Exile.
And the worst part is, Chris takes on the ""underdog"" behaviour, like bring it on.

Such a unthoughtfull question from incompetent gaming Journalist´s can only be answered with humor, like we put on gloves or gun´s and sort it out.

Never liked Guild Wars. To many advantages given to group play over solo. I know. The name had "guild" in it. Just never going back to that style of play. DAoC ate two years of my life. I had over one year of play-time in those two years. Literally half of my time was spent logged into that game.
